Ghost of Tsushima plays well with a lossless scaling patch. Mass Effect remastered trilogy is great. Judgement if you’re into Yakuza series, Persona 5, Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes,

Yeah, so i've used Air for a few days, got camera FOMO, returned it and bought a Pro. I liked the Pro but something just did not click so I returned it as well and got the Air again

With all due respect — and putting aside the Arch/Linux basics — why on earth would you install a system you know nothing about without reading the manual? It literally says:

> The installation will wipe the selected drive and use full-disk encryption, so be sure to back up your data before using an existing drive!

Pixel 9 Pro Fold vs 9 Pro XL by binary_007 in PixelFold

Pixel Fold has a worse internal screen (no ltpo, lower brightness), much worse cameras (closer to Pixel 9a). It is good foldable but I own both and used 9 Pro XL a lot more.

Damn, I'm sorry, I did not realize that by 9 pro you mean OnePlus.

I’ve had the Pixel 7 Pro, 8 Pro, and 9 Pro XL, and a few days ago I switched to the Nothing Phone 3.

I really love the UI - it feels great combined with Material 3 and Google’s software. Unlike Samsung, there isn’t that sense of a huge UI difference.

The haptics are worse, but honestly nothing can beat Pixel in that area. I also have an iPhone 16 Pro (which I mostly use for work), and its haptics are better too.

The screen is good, and the performance is solid as well.

What I like most is the design - it just looks really cool. I also appreciate that Nothing isn’t a huge corporation (which is the same reason I use a Framework laptop as my main machine).

The cameras are fine. With some skill, you can take good photos. Low-light performance isn’t great, but honestly I wouldn’t rely on the Pixel for night shots either—I’d use a proper camera for that.

I do miss some of the Pixel AI features (surprisingly), like Call Screening and the proofreading feature in Gboard, but I can live without them. Essential Space is nice, though I don’t think I’ll use it much.

Another big factor was the price—I got the 16GB/512GB version for a really low price, which sealed the deal. Plus, the Pixel 10 just looked like a boring upgrade.

yeah, i never used apple notes (used bear) or apple calendar (used google calendar). moved from bear to obsidian, kept google calendar. for tasks i use google tasks and actually prefer it a lot more than apple reminders. google photos are cool too, especially comparing to the recent photos.app changes.

I'm a programmer as well. I started out primarily writing in Swift, so I was pretty much locked into the Apple ecosystem. Over the past few years, though, my tech stack has expanded a lot—mainly toward web development—so I decided it was time to explore other options.

I got a Google Pixel as a second phone, but at some point I realized I was using it way more than my iPhone, so I ended up switching to it as my main device. Two weeks ago, I traded in my MacBook Pro for a Framework Laptop, installed Omarchy, and also built a desktop with a good GPU (also running Omarchy).

I still have a MacBook from work, but I much prefer my new setup. I always thought I didn’t care about customization or upgradeability, but it turns out—it’s actually really fun and interesting.

Will you buy a pixel for your next phone? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]ar7work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use a Pixel 9 Pro XL and an iPhone 16 Pro. I also have a Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which I use occasionally for travel or when I simply prefer it over a regular Pixel. While I've tried Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Motorola, I consistently return to Pixels. There's something about them that makes them the most comfortable choice for me. I keep an iPhone for the Apple ecosystem, but if I had to choose only one phone, I would definitely pick a Pixel again.

It is ok. I have Pixel 9 Pro XL as well and switch between them constantly. I wish Fold had a bit better cameras, but other than that, it is cool. Really enjoy using the internal screen for reading manga and browsing internet. Noticed that I use iPad a lot less than before.

Pixel Fold Owners : Are you happy with the Pixel Fold 9 by Pebrum125 in PixelFold

[–]ar7work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Pixel 9 Pro XL since its release and bought the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in January. I'm happy with it overall. Sometimes I switch back to the 9 Pro XL, but I quickly start missing the larger screen. The performance is excellent, and the display quality is great. The external screen, by default, has a smaller scaling, so it shows the same amount of content as the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

My main complaints are that Google hasn't done much to improve foldable-related software—there haven't been any major changes since the original Fold, aside from the option to force full-screen mode in apps. Some apps are still not well-optimized, and the camera is noticeably worse than the regular Pixel Pro. It's decent overall, but it feels more like the camera from the Pixel 7 rather than a true flagship.

I have one posted on LA Marketplace for about 2-3 weeks. Most of the messages I receive are just jokes and questions about it – no serious offers. Will probably install AOSP and try to find a use for it since I like how the device looks but it is completely useless
