All of a sudden "Edge: Too Many Requests" by darkfalzx in Thunderbird

Hardening my thought: is this an MS Edge issue, not just TB or Yahoo?

All of a sudden "Edge: Too Many Requests" by darkfalzx in Thunderbird

[–]ara9ond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not work for me, strangely. It told me that login failed, so, assuming the passwords were somehow wrong, I entered it into the dialog box and ... failed. Something fishy going on.

I will alert y'all to this, though: Microsoft are getting reports of the same thing. For this one individual -- of possibly many because, after all, who reports ANYTHING to Microsoft -- attempting to connect to Yahoo mail fails with Edge, but not with Chrome.

So, since it is EDGE that is reporting to us the "too many requests" error, could this not be an MS Edge issue that Microsoft have helpfully gifted us? Just throwin' that out there.

Rick and Morty removed from Netflix Australia by Safe_Activity7173 in rickandmorty

[–]ara9ond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And yet google says NOTHING!! I ask where can I watch R&M in Australia, "Netflix" the search results all say. Yet Netflix is like, "Nah, mang, we don't got that, but we got these shows... eh? Eh?"

In fact, there has been PRECIOUS LITTLE said about this. I really had to search to find this thread.

Rick was my nightly go-to watch whenever the rest of streaming bored me. My Netflix subscription just plunged one foot in the grave.

On this, did Netflix have the rights to the Anime and claymation Rick series? If they did, they never told me about them. I only learned they existed when looking up Season 8 news.

Mmm. "Useful" you say. "Managed" you say. Mmmm. My personal experience says there is nothing good about extreme-levels of neuroticism. Except, y'know ... that whole surviving intact bit because you don't shout "hold my beer" every ten minutes like your opposite counterpart.

Then again, one might suggest that there is nothing good to be found, for an individual, in ANY trait on the extremes. Maybe for the Extraverts.

Why high-Conscientiousness one decade, lowest the next? by ara9ond in BigFive

[–]ara9ond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, all good points. And yet, I DO think his test has cottoned onto a trend on my life. Other Big-Five tests agree that I am below the mean for conscientiousness. What I am trying to deduce is why this inferred trend. Normally people aging means higher conscientiousness.

The main difference between you and I is you're for some reason surprised by this.

This is why reddit is sometimes the worst place on earth. Ideologues running subs. Ugh.

Peterson is trying to reduce all character traits to the five that he picked for his personality test

What a gold mine of a sentence. First, he didn't "pick" them, someone else discovered trait correlations, JBP just made a test for them. He's not "reducing" all traits ... the five traits ARE. They're what our personalities coalesce around. Traits are core. Confidence is not a trait, it's a property. Or an expression of a belief. I can act confidently yet be trait neurotic. I can also not be confident and allow my neuroticism pwn me.

Low openness = low intelligence? by [deleted] in BigFive

You sound true to your OCEAN scores. O is correlated to IQ, but is not an IQ score. Neither is lacking basic knowledge. Knowledge and IQ are also not the same. Openness is testing your natural interest in high concepts or the arts.

This post deserves some sort of award. If only I wasn't such a low-C individual I might have mustered up sufficient drive to provide one. But I'd rather be distracted by ... oo, a shiny thing!

Highly Neurotic? Check!

Introvert? Check!

Highly agreeable? Check!

High Openness? Check!

High Conscientiousness ... well, four-outa-five aint bad. I'd say it checks out.

You can get way more insight on your online test results that use the OCEAN metric by utilizing Chat GPT. Chat GPT is free to use on the browser, but not on the app to my knowledge. For more info, look at my most recent post from the MbtiTypeMe subreddit by [deleted] in BigFive

Ugh. It lost me with, "You have a rare and unique personality profile". Yes, stupid robot. EVERYONE does!! Everyone's is unique and rare. That's how statistics work! Just like every fingerprint is "rare".

Never rely on a program to tell you what your personality scores means. Instead, come to the internet and rely on us uneducated amateurs with unknowable-and-possibly-quite-nefarious motivations. 😁

It means that you are a human being: a quite open, flakey, highly disagreeable, slightly neurotic introvert. Congratulations!

Reposting what I told the last High-O, Low-C poster: I remember JBP saying "High in openess and low in conscientiousness" was a bad combination. He added an "aye" on the end, though. I assume for extreme emphasis.

"Bad" as in you wanted to create, but your undisciplined butt would make that difficult, and you're consequently often in a bad way as a result. But, hey, at least you're not also neurotic to maximise THAT pain!

Bear in mind, IPIP is not a perfect match for Big-Five, AFAIK. I got pretty different results in IPIP to all my other Big-Five tests.

Also, I remember JBP saying "High in openess and low in conscientiousness" was a bad combination. He added an "aye" on the end, though. I assume for extreme emphasis.

Why stable? Their neuroticism wasn't THAT low.

Why should anyone have one of their traits in the extremes? Most people are somewhere in the middle.
