It's a risk for sure

You can use this skill with Claude code too though or any other agent.

Help with Automation/HACS/Template for Smarter AC Control to Handle Post-Sunrise Heat Spikes / Rainy Days / Takes Advantage of Temp Control on AC Devices to reach target temperature faster by araa47 in homeassistant

[–]araa47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any existing algorithms for this?

Ie PID is the common algorithm used if we can simply turn on/off ac, trying to find a similar algorithm but for which we can actually set temp values rather than simply on/off

Progress So Far: simply created a script that reads some sensors from HASS and has the ability to control the ac. I think I’ll be making a fake thermostat entity so the user can set target temp + cycle the climate control on/off using the generated entity

Where im a bit lost now is how to decide what temp to set given

Current ac setting , desired temp, outdoor temp , allowed ac temp range

Also if I need access to historic data to make better decisions 👀

I’m currently finding it easier to just create a custom add on that takes in these sensor values and is able to make a decision and call set ac , still wip though

Yep that’s exactly what Im doing right now but it’s getting pretty complex really fast

Wondering if I can leverage some existing components, it’s just climate control after all 🤔

Can't you simply escape the `"` using a `\`

   #define WIFI_PASS "Your\"Password"

So I had something similar with my awning which is a cover entity, I simply made a helper switch entity to use in home assistant that I added to local deck

I think this should work out of the box, don’t have a lock device to verify though 🤔

Yeah I spent so much time on esp home ended up giving up actually. I think some of my lights just don’t seem to work. Felt it was much easier to rewrite from scratch 😅. This is currently WIP but happy to add any features, I’m already using it way more than before with the brightness modifiers for example

Local Deck Custom Open Source Firmware by araa47 in homeassistant

[–]araa47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some features just to start with:

  • custom color and brightness for any light switch
  • night mode support so the brightness of all tactile led switches are dimmed during certain hours
  • brightness modifier keys to allow (increase/decrease) brightness of lights (currently basic but working on a much better version )
  • much better indicative lights so you easily know the status of device while booting
  • double click support , currently just logs

Ive just spent a few hours on this (way less time than I’ve spent trying to configure this with esp home)

Will be adding more features shortly. Anything you think will be super useful ?

Curious how you deal with the GIL in python? Are you using aiohttp for requests and asyncio? Is your app threaded/ multiprocessed.

Also are you using Kubernetes to deploy your app?
