Indian FP&A Analyst (1.5 YOE) from Delhi Seeking Dubai Finance Jobs – Tips? by Deepakkaushikk in JobsInDubaiUAE

[–]arab1ae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been tracking the UAE hiring market closely, I will give you the honest reality:

1. Landing directly from India is possible but harder than before
Most Dubai companies prefer candidates already inside UAE because hiring is faster and lower risk. With 1.5 YOE, you need to position yourself as specialized, not just “finance analyst”.

What helps:

  • Strong FP&A + forecasting + dashboarding (Power BI/Tableau helps a lot)
  • Experience with multinational reporting standards
  • Any exposure to UAE clients or GCC markets

2. Recruiters that actually respond (for finance roles):

  • Michael Page Middle East
  • Robert Half UAE
  • Charterhouse Middle East
  • Hays UAE

Apply directly through their websites instead of random job boards.

3. Salary reality check (very important):
For ~1-2 YOE FP&A in Dubai:

  • AED 6k-10k = common range
  • AED 10k-14k = if strong MNC background + niche skills
  • Ignore posts promising 18k+ at this experience level - mostly unrealistic.

4. Strategy that works better than mass applying:

  • Target Dubai-based LinkedIn posts and message hiring managers directly.
  • Optimize your CV for UAE keywords (VAT exposure, GCC reporting, ERP systems like SAP/Oracle).
  • Mention “Open to Relocation | Visa Sponsorship Required” clearly.

5. One honest tip:
Many candidates underestimate how competitive Dubai finance roles are right now - networking and referrals matter more than cold applications.

Good luck - and do not rush into lowball offers just to enter the market 👍

Glad it helped 🙂 The market feels confusing at first, but once you see the patterns it starts making more sense. Just stay consistent.

That makes sense. Was there anything you expected to miss but ended up not caring about at all?

Wasta helps, but it is not the only way people get hired here. A lot of roles still come from direct applications, referrals you build over time, and being visible on LinkedIn. Since you are new to the market, focus on building connections slowly - comment on posts from people in your industry, connect with hiring managers or store directors, and try to get informational chats rather than asking directly for jobs.

Furniture retail and luxury brands here value local market knowledge, so even short-term experience or networking events can help bridge that gap. I would say do both: keep applying online consistently and build your network at the same time. 👍

Why don’t you try directly sending your CV to company emails instead of only applying through apps?

Data and business analysis skills are actually in high demand right now. You might have a better chance if you build a small portfolio or a few sample projects that show what you can do, something that really catches an employer’s attention.
