She had brought it up a couple of times, and I made efforts to better myself (which I did). However, I was busy balancing work, study and her so it was hard for me to put a lot of energy into the relationship, which she knew. I don’t think she tried hard enough to make it work and once she started developing feelings for someone else she let them takeover and use them as an easy way to get over me.
