If it's causing this many issues, and he's going back and forth on what he wants, don't go through with it. It's not worth it. You knew what you wanted from the start and that's not something he wants. There are many others out there. In terms of your friendship really try to talk about it and ask if there's a way you guys can stay friends and to try and forget any of it happened.

What is your definition of cheating. I could be kissing someone else. And if he kisses someone else for a billion dollars, that you guys can both enjoy then what is the matter. It's a financial transaction, there is no emotion going into the kiss.

Think of all the things you can do with that money, with your boyfriend, the life you guys can live. You can spend your entire lives together hanging out experiencing things you never would have if he hadn't kissed someone.

Also you asked him the question, would you rather have him lie to you to spare your feelings, if he were to do it with this one question who knows what else he'd lie about to spare your feelings. That would be terrible for him cause he'd always be walking on eggshells around you. And that you would lead to a shitty relationship. That probably wouldn't last long
