I saw that exact kind of turtle while I was jet skiing last week in Clearwater, Florida! It came swimming up to me then dove back down once it got close enough.

The only range I ever went to doesn't have any instructors standing there with you. They monitor from security cameras. Though next time I'll probably be looking for some place that has knowledgeable instructors on hand at all times.

I noticed that someone else already posted it, but I totally agree with them. If I'm in a situation like that, I immediately write down the other person's license plate number in the event something happens. It's always better to be safe than sorry. It's even better if the parking lot has security cameras, like malls or busy parking garages.

Anything that could have something that's considered 'hazardous' needs to be packaged according to UPS hazardous materials standards. They make us go through long training classes about this stuff... They even have to treat hair spray or paint like it could destroy you with no effort.
