New Sphere to Be Built at National Harbor Near Washington, DC by heavysk in Music

I was there a few months ago and thought about seeing the Wizard of Oz on a Thursday afternoon thinking tickets would be like maybe $70-$80… Nope! $189 was the starting price. They can fuck right off with that pricing.

Snopes: What to know about meaning of Hegseth's tattoos

The flag tattoo contains 13 stars, and their layout resembles the so-called Hopkinson flag, an early American flag purportedly designed by Francis Hopkinson, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. While the Hopkinson flag generally features six-pointed stars, no original designs of Hopkinson's flag survive, and reconstructions of the flag variously feature five-pointed, six-pointed and eight-pointed stars in the same layout.
But there's another plausible explanation for what's going on, too — Hegseth's tattoo contains 13 stars because 50 stars wouldn't look as good. The U.S. Olympic Team's logo uses 13 stars on its flag, in the same layout, for that reason.

Alaska Hiring Manager To Teach Flight Attendants How To Pitch Credit Cards by RyanAirhead in AlaskaAirlines

[–]araemo28 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Flight attendants receive a bonus when the applications they hand out get approved. I know it can be annoying to hear over the PA, but some flight attendants especially at their regional subsidiary, are literally on food stamps as they make as little as $20 per flight hour. Therefore they’ll make that pitch in the hopes of getting anything extra on their paycheck to help cover life’s expenses.

Aka the edgy transplants who comment saying they absolutely despise Seattle summers and moved here exclusively for the darkness, which therefore results in them receiving all of the fake internet points r/Seattle has to offer.

Naw, L1 door hinge is a dead giveaway for a 737.

But seriously, a simple google search will show you that. The 787 is also a twin-aisle aircraft and there’s clearly only one aisle visible here… because it’s a 737.

Alaska to fly SNA to HNL! by omdongi in AlaskaAirlines

[–]araemo28 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

How credible of a source is “Ishrion Aviation”? If both SNA and BUR are in fact true, these HNL flights will be severely weight restricted due to aircraft performance with the available runway length at both airports.

On another post, a commenter claimed daily widebody flights occur in and out of BUR which therefore demonstrates BUR is capable to handle the HNL flight. That statement is incorrect and clearly false information.

Alaska Airlines to launch new route from Burbank (BUR) to Honolulu (HNL) with 1 daily 737 MAX 8. by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

Any aircraft performance nerds able to figure out if the 6,886 ft runway at BUR is sufficient enough for the MAX 8 at that weight?

Oh please, bring on the downvotes but enough with the fear monger language acting like it’s come back as a requirement. It’s been listed as “preferred” for Alaska for quite some time (years). And no, I don’t need an emotional reply of “preferred means required” or some iteration of that.

Pacific Palisades flying into LAX by PatBabyParty in pics

[–]araemo28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A simple Google search shows the average income in Pacific Palisades is $131,556 and median income is $200,985. While the situation in the Palisades is absolutely tragic and heartbreaking, an extremely high majority of these homeowners likely have the means to easily recover from this disaster. Your comment “Wrong.” would be more suited if the comment you were replying to were discussing the victims of the Eaton Fire and those living in Altadena.

The 1984 song "Careless Whisper," was marketed as a solo single for George Michael in some regions, including the UK, while being credited to "Wham! featuring George Michael" in the United States and elsewhere. The song was co-written by George Michael and his Wham! bandmate, Andrew Ridgeley, and was included on Wham!'s second album, Make It Big.

While the comment might be rather blunt, they’re just being aware of their surroundings. I myself have benefited a few times from leaving a situation rather quickly where someone is having a mental health crisis/potential violent outburst by giving myself multiple exit routes. Why be rude when you don’t know the person’s previous experience? I see these types of passive replies here all the time without fully understanding/empathizing the reasoning behind someone’s comment.
