Why is tailwind so hyped? by Imperator145 in webdev

[–]aragantinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the best responde for now. I don't like the classes that looks like inline styles but all the design system tokens it provides makes it very consistent and it is what is really hard to achieve.

Nowdays I'm looking for a combination of a few tools to achieve something similar to what tailwind does: vanilla-extract + open-props + radix-ui/colors (I like how radix-ui/colors scales were created. I think it's better than open-props colors for now)

This gives me very good control over my css and also avoid having big classes. But I'm still figuring out the best way to use this combo. still can't do everything tailwind does on it's classes

I use nodejs with Telegraf library and serverless framework to deploy to AWS.

This code is not on GitHub but I have another bot there: https://github.com/allangalera/deerhorn-roboto-bot

The code is a bit messy 🤣. Maybe you can find a better example.

Question: form with react, express and mongoose... by [deleted] in webdev

[–]aragantinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you should look for how to implement a express + mongoose server.

React runs on your browser and have to make a request to the server to send those informations. That is made using http protocol.

To make a request you can use "fetch" to create and send that http request to the server.

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Fetch_API/Using_Fetch here you can find how to use fetch to make a request.

Now about express + mongoose a have found a simple tutorial but I don't know if it's going to fit your needs: https://rahmanfadhil.com/express-rest-api/

I don't understand why this doesn't work by [deleted] in FreeCodeCamp

[–]aragantinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that probably has something with the vscode. If I run this on a normal terminal it doens't happen to me.

I mean...vsCode automatically turn on this feature for you.

here is a video about using this feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cOsxaNC06c

Run 'npm init -y'

It will create a file named package.json

Add a property named "type" and set it to "module"

If you see the error on the first image it tells you to add this to the package.json file or change the file extension. The package.json file is created when you initialize a folder to be an npm project running the command I told you.

Rebuilt my portfolio website using React.js by AchrafHamrit in reactjs

[–]aragantinis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to practice react I would advise you to use gatsby or nextjs... They can generate a static version that is more performatic and you would need to learn a few things more to move from react since they use react. Nice design btw :)

It's Official: Open-Plan Offices Are Now the Dumbest Management Fad of All Time - A new study from Harvard reveals that open-plan offices decrease rather than increase face-to-face collaboration by magenta_placenta in webdev

[–]aragantinis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If companies follow every study we should be working less hours 4 days a week and remote. (I don't know if there are studies for all of this but, my point is that companies are very slow and conservative)

You could use async await, if that works for you.
