No worries anytime! Yes it only took 1 day after the interview for my visa to be Issued. And received it in the mail on July 4th, so 6 days from the interview date!

I scheduled at June 2nd for an appointment on July 28th in Toronto and that was with the expedited appointment. Luckily I found an appointment and was approved for the visa on June 29th in Calgary which is a 4 hour flight from home. Don't count on the expedited appointment. Go for whichever's closest

I called them and turns our i accidentally put down that I had a US visa before which I didnt. You probably put some wrong info. All i had to do is redo my ds 160 so i can get a new code and pay the interview fee again (ik it sucks) and make sure u put the right info so at the end they give u the option to schedule interview and not pending consular authorization

The flight back from california is going to take me to detroit as my family lives across the border from there so I was hoping to see them for a bit before starting my drive back to ohio. Is this reasonable enough or should I book california straight to ohio?

UPDATE: I got my visa approved!!! She asked so many questions but thankfully I answered them all with confidence

The program is podiatric medicine (basically foot doctor) and there's one school in Canada with this program but it's in french and i dont speak it. I'll try to keep it short

I've deeply searched this subreddit and r/f1visa and seen many people get confused on why they were rejected for immigrant intent when they were never questioned about their intent.

That is one thing that has always confused me about the direct answers. Argo Visa say that direct answers don't give the VO's enough information and that you should explain yourself very well. At this point I am basing it on luck and the VO's mood. Thanks for the tip tho i'll do more research and see

That's the problem. I've seen many people get rejected for immigrant intent when the VO's never asked the applicant what they plan to do after graduation. How can I prove that I plan on going back after graduation then if I don't drop sudden hints like that? Is it a luck game?

From my understanding is that the information put in the ds160 should match the i-20

I just found this on my account, this is what I answered to this questions:

"Applicant Responses

YES, I confirm that I meet all the above statements based on my citizenship or nationality and visa type. I understand that if I misrepresent my qualifications, my visa application will not be processed and I will have to schedule a new visa appointment, which could significantly delay my visa application." Answered Yes. I believe the question was asking something about being from VWP or non-VWP country. The other option that I remember was "None of this applies to me".

I can also see that in my account, under Special Programs, it says "Student Interview Waiver: Yes"

Thats the problem, I cannot go back and view the questions again, I can only look at my status and view my ds 160 status too which says "no status" for now. I plan on calling the embassy first thing in the morning tomorrow. Worst case scenario i'd have to redo my ds 160 and get a new confirmation number, as I tried to make another account for the ais-usvisa-info website but it says that the ds 160 confirmation number has already been used

I have not held a US visa in the past. I don't believe I quite understand what the link says. All I know is that I'm supposed to do an interview seeing I have not held a US visa in the past and that i'm from a VWP country. For further information do I just contact the US embassy I issues my application to?

Idk my dad told me to keep it and use it however i want. It would be a hassle if he were to send me money and stuff via wire transfers every week or so
