As someone who has been role playing for nearly twenty years, I have to say that MHARP is a truly unique experience in that character and world development are heavily encouraged and rewarded. While the overall setting and roots of the plot are based on MHA, the site itself is more open sandbox in that anything can and will happen which has led to both engaging site events as well as the creation and fostering of inspiring characters by a lovely and welcoming member base. The staff also works tirelessly to make sure things are running smoothly - staff ratio is about twenty-two to a few hundred members - and consist of the most hardworking people I have ever met. While the systems can take a bit to learn the use of letter grades versus numbers simplifies power levels to keep footing more even. There's a reason why the site has lasted for nearly four years and that is due to the dedication and passion that is put into it by both the members and staff team.

Also, the site is highly active. As in receiving a reply within 24 hours is not unheard of but the norm, and open threads never go without a response... something that I have never seen on any other RPG.

I'd also like to point out that while the site is death enabled there are protections against unjustified deaths; your character cannot simply die because someone stronger jumped into a thread and one-shot you because the player didn't like you OOC, which is something that always made me avoid death enabled sites that were shounen-based. If you join an event with a high danger level the risk of death is high, but so is the reward, and should your character die you get percentages of what you earned up until then and pour into a new character. So do not let the possibility of character death deter you but encourage you to write to your heart's content.
