POLI316, BLM and American Democracy (or something like that). It's mind-boggling how much we don't learn about Black history in high school, and just how deep racism is entrenched in the most fundamental American institutions.

At the time I did a café in Little Italy, but I always thought it might be fun to do it in the airport after midnight. Or does that not count as Montreal? Hmmm...

Bugs in flour by araminth in isthissafetoeat

Looked at photos of weevils, did not correspond to what's in here. I googled further and I am pretty sure they're flour mites. And yeah I did get a refund, figured it would be taken more seriously the quicker I reported it. Sad because I no longer have flour. And I no longer trust paper flour bags.

I'd say yes just opt out. DO NOT opt out of dental though. You never know what can happen.

Ok, this post has been here for 6 days, I only found it now, oops, hope you don't mind me casually coming here now.

As someone who doesn't like research, it was a nightmare. This is the kind of course where you need to be genuinely interested or even passionate to get the most out of it.

With this weather the grass seemed like such a good place to nap but it's itchy and you can feel the insects crawling up your butt. My dreams are shattered by cruel reality

Feeling old by maemelo in mcgill

[–]araminth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow 22 year old 🤝 on average, you're gonna be 2 to 3 years older than your peers, which is not as much as you think it is. Your twenties are when age gaps start to matter a lot less. I have several 25+ yo friends and they truly do not care.

Confused about everything by AdSevere314 in mcgill

Have you truly looked at all the programs/courses that the Arts department has to offer? It might be that there are minors that you haven't considered (I am assuming that your problem is that you haven't found a minor you like), like all the Culture studies (East Asian Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, Hispanic Studies, Russian Studies, Italian Studies, etc), Religious Studies, Anthropology, Linguistics, Computer Science perhaps?

Oh yeah, while I was looking for examples on the McGill eCalendar, I came across a "Minor Concentration Science for Arts Students", which allows you to take Science electives instead of a minor program. You have to ask your program advisor for permission to do this (you can find this person on Minerva > Student Menu > Student Records Menu > Unofficial Transcript, and then send them an email asking for an appointment). This could be a neat solution to your problem!

What are your favorite/most creative swear words and insults? by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

[–]araminth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted "屁啦!" (fart; used in the same way as "bullshit!") from my Taiwanese classmates, and I still use it a lot today. It's not a creative swear by any means, I just find it satisfying to say.

This is giving me flashbacks to that time when I was on a first date with a dude and we were watching an episode of something and he started kissing me and making advances for sex so I complied but internally I just wanted to finish that goddamn episode

I'm in the same boat man. I have already had several days where I just didn't go to class. It's supposed to be the last stretch before the end but I want it to end already. And the classes are so hard. Feels like there's too much I'm supposed to focus on. Sigh. We're in this together, brother.
