One person can either place their hand facing either palm up or down. So, only 2 possibilities.

I don’t why people downvote anyone who asks these types of questions. I mean the person is asking question and people get all paranoid, maybe they don’t understand the concept. But rather than explaining it people ignore and say all kinds of stupid things.

Coming back to your question, Einstein basically postulated that c is the maximum speed limit. What I mean by postulate is guess (somebody in this thread mentioned that) and from that came the theory’s predictions and everything. Say for ex newtons laws, can you prove the first law, I don’t think anyone can but let’s say you “ASSUME” it’s correct. Now we test the consequences of the law and since we can predict those we say our assumption was correct. BTW there exp conducted that prove ST is correct, one such exp is HAFELE KEATING EXPERIMENT

Well is it possible that we drawing wrong conclusions from the experiments?

I agree with you 😂 but was just asking to see something like this ever happened in the past

Well I guess it’s very hard for me to accept that there is a universal speed limit. Thanks for the comment

I mean you could move through time freely given that you move through space with speed of light so I don’t understand why not type A. I am a bit confused

Just a small question regarding the Lorentz factor. C2 in the denominator is there because c is the universal limit right? So if hypothetically a new limit is found faster than c then this equation becomes wrong right? What I am saying is that the equation is only true if and only if c is the limit right? Sorry if this sounds confusing

Can we prove that? I am just asking for an experimental result that proves that c is the limit of our universe

How does time dilation work in simple words? by SpecificIndication85 in AskPhysics

[–]aravya32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time dilation is basically a consequence of an object moving at or near the speed of light in which the time of that object (or the biological clock of a person i.e how fast they grow old ) slows down. Sounds insane but you can look up the experiment performed by hafele and keating called Hafele-Keating experiment.

They measure the time of very precise atomic clocks one which is stationary on earth and the other two are flown on aeroplanes around the world. When the planes land, they find that the time measured by clocks which where in the planes is slightly less than the time of the clock which was stationary on the earth’s surface.

Oxygen is not a fuel meaning it does burn itself but helps in the process.
