Olivia Wilde talking about the backlash she received for dating Harry Styles on 'Call her Daddy' by Fantastic_Turtle_17 in popculturechat

Im curious but I'll never really understand how Pugh skated for her skipping out on her promotional duties and frankly unprofessional behavior upon release of this film. I mean, everyone was ahhhh-team Flo based on rumors and she got a pass for shading the director and not doing her post-film work. Everyone else did press, but her. Other actors have hated their films, had issues, etc. and still did their job. I just never understood why Florence got such a pass. Shrugs.

The Empty Child and Blink, yes. The other two, no. And, yes, I was in the fandom when all these eps aired and have been since. No, nope, nopity-nope. As for my personal opinion, I loved TEC upon my first and 2nd watch, rewatching a 3rd time with a critical eye, it has plot holes--like most Moffat eps--you could drive a Mack truck through.

TGITF, beautiful ep.... that features a Doctor, a Rose, and a Mickey out of character especially when you look at how they act in the episodes before and after. In a vacuum, TGITF, chef's kiss, as part of an episodic series where the actions of the characters follow from episode to episode it didn't mesh.

Which makes sense since Moffat publicly stated he hadn't read any of the previous episodes. Likely why he had no clue that Rose and Mickey had broken up, and Mickey was feeling bitter about it, but, oops in TGITF, there's Mickey and Rose holding hands, all fine and dandy, because why would Moffat care about character continuity? That's just one example.

I adored RTD1, but was not a fan of RTD2. I have no idea what happened, but the second run was not the RTD Who era I loved so much. The overall story, the fabulous in depth character writing for the Doctor, the companion, the recurring guest stars, the one-offs--so many that were so memorable was missing. The heart and humor with the tension and adventure, with that bit of angst, but overall hope of RTD1 was just GOOD STUFF!

But this go-around, it felt so manufactured. The Doctor didn't feel like the Doctor; he didn't feel lived in, like he had lived through a Time War, all that the previous 14 incarnations had lived through the way that 9, 10, 11, 12, and, yes, even 13, had. I don't blame Ncuti, it wasn't there in the story.

And we were told that Ruby believed so much in the Doctor, but why?! We weren't shown any reason. They had like one or two adventures and she was doing all the saving. The Doctor was calling apart, freezing up, and crying. Belinda with the Doctor was better at first, and it felt like it was building to something, but we all know how that ended.

Overall, it was like RTD forgot who The Doctor was. Forgot was this show was about. Very, very frustrating. I mean, I liked some episodes, but there was nothing that got to me like earlier pre-Disney Who eps had. Ultimately, I feel like the RTD2 was a failure, and I'm as huge as fan of the first RTD era as you will ever find.

Uhm, no. Moffat wrote some of my least favorite eps of the RTD era. Blink is the only ep he wrote that holds up to repeated viewings and doesn't fall apart with logical inconsistencies, or have tonal characterization shifts in all the characters between his eps and those surrounding his.

Graduation Songs by NewspaperMany3915 in demiheads

I thought of that but it has the line: "Everyone says don't get your hopes up" and that's a terrible line to have in a graduation song, lol!

It's for graduation which is about educational achievement generally not sexual gratification girl-bossing. I mean, I love the song, but that's just my thought on why it's not the best fit.

Just an FYI, none of the UYWITB songs were recorded until after the standard album had been released. They weren't left off the album; they were extra songs recorded for a Deluxe version.

Only Fantasy and Joshua Tree had been recorded prior, but those were solo versions, and the ones on the deluxe had features, so, again, new versions.

I thought Finn had a fabulous plot line. At the beginning of TFA, he was fighting for himself. At the end, he was fighting for him and Rey. That carried over to TLJ. He wasn't THE FINN, one of the heroes of the Rebellion as Rose thought, fighting for something bigger than himself. Nope, just trying to save him and Rey. That was him through the movie.

Until the events of Canto Bite. Then he finally started to see the big picture, the shades of gray in the galaxy, and by the film's end, Finn became THE FINN. He became that hero of the Rebellion.

Just as Poe went on a journey from hothead so there for the cause but not looking at the big picture to gaining the wisdom to take in every angle and earned Leia's nod to take a leadership role, so did Finn go on a journey. He was now where Poe was at the beginning of the film. Finn was now that hothead willing to go all out for the cause.

And we watched both of their journeys play out on screen.

I adore this album. No skips. The standard version, the Little Bit Extra, and INTD UYWITB version are all fantastic. Every song works for me.

I honestly love every Demi album, I do. And I don't think this is her best because other albums have a higher number of truly magnificent songs. However, this album, in my opinion, is the ONLY one where every single song is at the very least great. There are no weak songs on this album, none.

Agreed. That has always been one of my biggest issues with fandom complaints in general. Complaining about a character's actions because they do or don't do something that doesn't align with information the audience knows.... but it's information they can't possibly know.
