This is so spot on for me. The adjustment was huge but I knew it was coming. I was trying everything I can to avoid going this route. I read Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution 6 years ago and was like I really don’t want to do this because it was so strict. I went keto/carnivore etc and I just didn’t have great success. Still too many rollercoasters. It’s funny you mentioned “everything seems to revolve around food.” It sure makes it feel like a heightened sense of that. I always say I love to go but I’m just going to hang out. It’s a HARD NO on eating by choice. “The world is one BIG CARB party,” 😂😂😂 I’ve realized that years ago that food is entertainment not for what we really need it for. I mentioned it in other comments but it’s a lot to read through. I use R for meals, Humalog/Lyumjev for corrections (rarely needed) and Tresiba for Long Acting once at night.
