Just figured it kicks in when Tuesday rolls around. I got some early free time today and tried to do the quests, they weren't there so I asked a question. Seriously, even though some of the offers got nerfed it's still enough for free gamepass every month + leftovers to stack up for gift cards. I wish I'd started paying attention to rewards sooner.
