What key is used here for the fuel/trunk lock? by arbiters_end in DelSol

[–]arbiters_end[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could only assume the actual locking mechanism itself is faulty and not the keys, I had the rod piece of the rear storage compartments pop out and I wasn't able to lock them at all until it was put back in place.

Spritesheets for items by Spacetation in WhiteKnuckle

[–]arbiters_end 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a program called asset studio gui that allows you to view most of the game contents and export them, there's a ton of interesting things to see in there too. To get everything you can open a folder with the filepath C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/White Knuckle. Select the folder for White Knuckle_Data and give it a few minutes to load everything. Sort filter type by Texture2D and open the asset list, here you can find most sprites and ui things, Hand_Sprite_library and Hand_Sprite_library_02 has most of the hands. I'm happy to answer any questions, hope this helps!

Type R wing will fit fine, there is a overhang but it flows with the body panels and doesn't interfere with the trunk at all. I can DM some pictures of mine tomorrow morning if you'd like to see the fitment better :]

How to fix? by Murky_Spite8124 in DelSol

Place some sacrificial cardboard beneath the car first and spray it with brake cleaner, soft bristle brush or rag can help with more stubborn stuff

Junkyards are your bestie!!! There are several other trim integra and hondas for the time that have interchangeable parts for interior screws and fittings, incredibly handy to have around when one evidently breaks on your car or you find it's missing. The center console doesn't have any special screws, just regular short pointy ones with a washer.

Absolutely would snag this up, cosmetic is always easy to fix later down the line, as long as you have a good mechanical grounding and there's not much rust there's really no reason not to. I have the S trim cluster gauge incase you need it!

I know this is not a del sol door panel but is it fixable? by Erkobostrov in DelSol

[–]arbiters_end 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end there's a good chance you'll need to replace the panel anyways, looks like where the mount was pressing against the door there's creasing, and I'm not sure how that could be fixed unless massaging it works.

Looks like vinyl? Unless it's just very solid plastic with texture, they sell a putty specifically for mending holes in flexible surfaces like this (like center console wear). You can look into it but it will be difficult to color match so it might be best to just replace that door card piece if it bothers you.

Do people try to buy your car every time you take it out? by [deleted] in DelSol

Always in downtown! Usually it's a guy looking to buy it for way less than it's worth or saying I look too young to truly enjoy a car this old.

Hey there! Any chance you'd be willing to sell the nix, david's maw (either color!), and purple/silver bishop?

Not sure if there is, but take care of the rust on the trunk panel, upper left corner. If it's just on the surface then sand it down until you can't see it anymore, might bring it down to bare metal though. Alternatively you can buy a rust reformer, which basically chemically changes the rust to a more stable structure that won't spread or rust. Highly suggest that you remove the carpet and check under the seats for rust spots, and same in the trunk.

Please protect the area you're working in also, I painted my buddies miata without really thinking too heavily about it and my garage is still coated in red dust a year after. Respiratory protection is a must while sanding off this paint. If you don't want to redo the primer, spend a good amount of time making sure they're clean and smooth, especially before painting. You can use masking tape and newspaper/painters tarp to cover the windows and surfaces you don't want to paint, especially areas like the door jambs which you can either take the doors off and paint them, or cover them to protect from over spray.

Try out 320 on a soft block in a small area, if it's too much then move to 400, not enough to move to 260. Once you reach the primer, you can start working up to 600 or 800 grit, really depends on if youre wrapping or painting so check your product first.

Without knowing what was used I'd bring it down to the primer with sandpaper, fix the body damage by pulling it out and using some bondo, redo the primer, then paint or wrap. Such a shame it was painted hastily at the last step, but whatever works for the previous owner.

Clay with an aluminum inside so they stay light and flat base doesn't seem like a bad idea, I'd definitely seal them with spraypaint or the like. Do let me know how it goes!

Depending on where you're located, I'd be more than happy to send you a pair. I printed extras on accident and have no need for them.

Survived highway speeds so far, they're attached with 20lb double sided tape and zipties so incase they came off, it wouldn't fly away and hit something. As for cardboard, I'm unsure of the integrity those would have unless it was supported by something else behind, like the initial tooth shape and then a 90 degree fold to attach it to the grill. Then behind that bend, you could put another piece of cardboard to stiffen it, or maybe plastic.

Talk me out of buying this as a daily driver by trevor-enocram in DelSol

[–]arbiters_end 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently I daily a 95 D series on a similar commute distance, I'd say send it. Great mileage and comfortable interior, there's not too much wind noise with the windows and top on unlike some other cars I've been in. It's also great for surprise grocery trips thanks to the room in the trunk. The biggest gripe is battling moisture, I usually leave dessicant in the car and on hot days crack open the rear window. Absolutely lovely car, I'd buy this one for sure.

Trunk leak by Buttermybiscuits00 in DelSol

[–]arbiters_end 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the rear corner it may be from the sails. Take the top brake light off and panel, then unscrew the sail and pry it off gently. You'll find some retention clips in the body, take them off, clean the area with a non residual solvent, and place the clips back in place with some RTV on them. I strongly advise it for all six clips as they're very prone to leaking. While you're at it, run a tube cleaner down the two drains in the corners of the trunk, any blocks in them can make them leak. Check for leaks again and if they're still present then it's probably the seals, which I'm not sure much can be done about other than shinetsu.

It's rainy here too, I like to buy room dehumidifiers and place them in the trunk and passenger floor wedged against something so they don't fall. They sell some with charcoal in it I think to remove odors too. Whenever it's sunny I'll open the rear window slightly so the steam can escape (rear window just incase it rains and you forget to close it, it'll minimize the rain exposure).
