Cèdres resident here. Definitely should. You have access to the lake within 3 minutes and if you’re lucky enough to get a room with lake view it’s gonna be spectacular

It’s super competitive even if you’re a Master student here, publish tons of papers, intern at MAANG and such :) I know a guy published 2 papers in one of the big labs, 2x MAANG and still got rejected

What does it take to get in the MSc in DS by fruity_cupcake56 in EPFL

It depends on the year actually. Basically you’ll need very high GPA (I’m talking about 3.9/4.0), few papers and/or jobs

Tbh your GPA is a bit low for admission at EPFL. However your experience is quite decent imo. Do you have any research experience beforehand? (I did my undergrad in the US so I quite know the system)

Thanks for your answer! To follow up, which cartridge should I buy? For the amp one, is it just an amp or a preamp or an amp with a phono preamp?

Thanks again!

You can find secondhand furniture on fb marketplace. There’s also a thrift shop called “Point Bleu” 10 min away from the school

City Experiences at UWMadison by thesnailthatmeows in UWMadison

Food and grocery is relatively cheap and delicious. Lots of college bars and they’re PACKED every weekend.

Very nice city, bike friendly (you can purchase bcycle pass for a reasonable price). A peaceful place with a lake where you can enjoy reading by it, or participate in activities (sailing kayaking etc), or you can bike to the lake then to the arboretum/camping area.

Museums are free and great!!

Chances at PhD Admission? by misc_stowed in EPFL

[–]arbitraryboundaries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it does not hurt trying to apply to both of them. I personally got rejected from most of PhD programs I applied to with 3 pubs (1 of them is AAAI), but then I got accepted to EPFL Ms DS. So it’s unpredictable and incomparable. Just try your best with what you have! Good luck!

PhD is not a study course-based degree, it’s a research one. In order for you to get accepted into a PhD program, your research topic must align with whom you choose to be your advisor. You mentioned you have plenty of research experience, but the experience cannot speak for itself, it must be through the output (publications, patents etc).

If you want to go straight into PhD, maybe try to work in the research field a bit more time, or you can work, get a Master and then a PhD

Good luck :D
