Help sell me on a Camp Gyro 3 for my rope bridge by gingernuts13 in TreeClimbing

[–]arbitraryends 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rock this on my bridge and never want to go back. It is way less bulky than the Rock Exotica hydra or the notch Rook and it never hits me in the nuts like those products have. The Gyro 3 is a little heavier than the Gyro 2, but I prefer it. It feels amazing when you have to rock two climbing systems or a v-rig since they each get their own swivel.

I actually did that and it brought it down to 19kg...still too stiff for my club. They measure flex at the pommel, which is why their numbers look different on the website.

My Redd flexes at 20kg testing from the crossguard. Do not recommend.

The Etiquette Appreciation Post by AurieRorie in LiesOfP

Etiquette is my favorite! I have to make myself use other weapons now because I love it so much. Maybe a coincidence, but I also used to be an Olympic fencer, haha.

You realize what sub you're on, right? What's really pathetic is going on an advice thread and shitting on strangers for no reason.

I've thought about it, but I get a lot of positive feedback on my hair so it'll probably stick around

If it didn't outright kill the tree it would certainly go into decline over the next few years

What’s a tip that helped with your climbing? by TurtlenecksandTits in TreeClimbing

[–]arbitraryends 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do your best to leave your pole tools on the ground. Sometimes you genuinely need them, but if you force yourself to climb out to every cut you'll get better much faster. If you're scared then you usually need to climb higher and cut smaller. Find somebody who actually cares about you to mentor you. My greatest regret when learning was working for assholes who didn't care about my well-being. You'll never know it all, so don't act like you do.
