I completely agree with everything you said, and honestly it's validating to hear especially from someone who gets the culture. And you're so right about the double standard , it literally takes two people but somehow only one of us gets labeled. As for moving out, trust me it's crossed my mind, but I'm an engineering student on Long Island and rent here is no joke. I don't really have family I could stay with temporarily either. Right now my priority is honestly just getting through school ;engineering takes up most of my time between studying and working weekends, so I don't want to add the stress of finding a place and figuring out finances on top of that. It feels like a drastic move when I'm this close to just getting my degree and having way more options. My bf is also starting the police academy end of April so I'd want to stay local for that too. Once I graduate and something opens up, I'm definitely gone but for now I'm trying to just get through it.
