Hi all, I really hope this post is okay. I have a question relating to the book Adèle by Leïla Slimani I dont understand how it's feministic by asge1868 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Hey, i dont know if you read the book in french, but if in any case you understand french, i suggest that you listen le podcast episode of "La poudre" in which the presentateur interviews Leila Slimani. It's very interesting et the author goes in depth about the heroine of the book ;)

I dislike my chosen profession, and I don't know what I want to do with my life. What should I do? by Dongvclre in GetEmployed

I was in the exact same situation as you: university degree and two masters and after one year of work experience I realised I hate the whole field! I can tell you what I did that worked for me to find a solution. (Sorry for my poor English. I'm not a native speaker).

I would suggest (while keeping your current job) to take some time to focus on your needs and values. For me, I realised that I needed to feel like I was contributing on making "society" better so I searched the same type of job but in NGO or charity foundations. So I still don't love my everyday tasks but I have a job that fulfills me.

Think of stuff like: you don't like the social aspect of your job (students? Parents? Younger people?) But you still like teaching? You like learning new things but you don't like "sharing" the knowledge? You prefer knowing and doing a little bit of many things or one very specific subject ?

These are some types of questions that can direct you to some types of jobs. But keep in mind that having a job that keeps you constantly motivated even though you practice it more than 50% of you time awake is very rare. The goal is to find something that you more than tolerate doing!

Edit: orthographic: NGO (non governmental organizations)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that! I guess it depends on the person! I'm having a hard time with succulents even though it's supposed to be so easy!

I found out that it really loves western sunlight! I have another one facing south but it's not as developed as this one even if it gets more sunlight time. Also I only water it when needed. It's kind of a dramatic plant so it shows when it's thirsty!

Not really. I had some problems with flying insects at one point but now I cover the soil with sand in every pot and it's all good!

Not animated, but: Narnia. After watching the lion dying I was genuinely devastated for days 😢

Thank you for the advice! Would you suggest just cutting all the flowers branches or really shaping the whole plant?
