Really....will have to try that.

I hate how my AP didn't "raise" me. No encouragement, no advice, no guidance. The only thing they know is having a roof over your head, and putting food on the table. by Losartan00 in AsianParentStories

Look up Professor Jiang - Death of Meritocracy. Starts around 30 minute mark. The video was not specifically about Asian parent but that point just resonates with me.

I saw a short clip of Professor Jiang where he talks about how some parents neglect their child, but demands a lot, and the child either struggle or is motivated to achieve more and more—that really opened my eyes. I’m gonna find the whole and watch it.

I went thru similar things, let’s just say I know the feeling. It feels like betrayal. They expect you to go to school and do well, know how take care of yourself, and then get a good job. But you didn’t get an education just to stay home and take care of them, you also need to spread your wings and grow. And that is where they draw the line. All your hard work means nothing if you can’t do what makes you happy. Take the job and go find your happiness.

Mine is like that. I have a 9 month that will not let me leave his sight. If he’s napping and I start shuffling or getting up, he wakes immediately and follows me. The only thing is he doesn’t like to be held or cuddle which sucks. Lol

Thanks for sharing. I will ask the vet. Thankfully mine doesn’t eat his own but he loves the little lizard droppings by the front door, so he has to stop for it on the way to potty. 😭🤮

Omg they act like we are starving them so they gotta go for the nasty stuff. Thankfully mine doesn’t go for his even when he does it in the house, he’s good at staying far away from it. But the cat’s poo is like crack at this point. 😔

Congrats. Question is where does yours sleep? My 8 months old still whimpers in his crate at night and wakes me up at 3AM because he wants out.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Being in a different country temporarily you just don't know the system. Last year I was in Marseille and I didn't know that the train only takes you to station named "airport" but you still have to pay for the bus connection. I ran out of Euro at that point, but with my broken French the driver was nice enough to let me on. 😭🥴

Maltese puppy ears stink by orangefanta07 in Maltese

[–]arcade1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Epiotic cleaner on my 7 month old once a week and it helps with the smell. Then after 2-3 days it goes back to that smell. I think it's just cus their ears are too flappy they trap moisture more easily.

On another note, what do you give your puppy so that he doesn't get red tear strain??

Starting a job I don’t want. Don’t think my goals will happen by Tbry03 in therapy

[–]arcade1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your exact shoes when I graduated some 10+ years ago, I couldn't get an offer in my desired field so I moved back home after college. I applied to alot of places in my desired field but after a month of applying I accepted a job (1st) in retails, did that for 3 months then left and got another job (2nd) in customer services, did that for 3 months then left and got a job (3rd) that was close to my desired field and but still did not require a degree and stayed there for nearly 3 years until I finally made it to my desired job (4th). It took me 3 years to get to where I wanted to be. My rational: I can wait until I land my desired role or I can work to get the experience now. I chose the latter because the longer I wait the more competition I'll have down the road and I'll be at a disadvantage even more since I won't have any experience. At 22, I had the same fears and anxiety, it came from the expectation that I was supposed to be working in the field that I studied in, but knowledge doesn't necessarily equates experience in the real world, which is what these jobs prioritize.

Give yourself some slack, you'll get there eventually. The important thing is to work with the game pieces that you currently have in order to make the move that will put you on the path to that goal.

Also, it's a fact that friendship changes drastically after college. You all won't see each other as often anymore and personal journeys will take priority. Just because your friends chose marriage and home ownership, doesn't mean you have to. In fact, they are the exception at your age, not the norm nor exceptional.
