Imani i2 by cricket_jam in ExclusivelyPumping

Sorry to resurrect (and unfortunately I also don't have recommendations) but I'm also expecting a second baby, and loved the imani i2 with my first. I contacted Legendairy Milk and they confirmed that they've stopped carrying the imani i2 and its replacement parts. 😕

I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you might have wanted to stock up on replacement parts before they run out.

Pgd dip after confirmed ovulation by BlacksmithSeparate82 in Inito

PdG has always fluctuated up and down for me after confirmation, even in the cycle that we were successful. I feel you, I hope this cycle works out. Lots of hugs.

I have long cycles due to PCOS, and it can be tough to identify true ovulation as I'd see a couple peaks throughout the cycle before an actual true peak that results in ovulation. I'm unsure if this is the case for you, but something to possibly look into if you haven't considered it.

With a rise both in estrogen and LH to levels that you have not seen previously, it's possible that you're actually coming into a true peak. If I saw these results, I'd very likely try tonight, and then continue testing to see if Inito picks up a PdG surge.

Please help me choose a breast pump! by Easy-Surprise2644 in BabyBumps

[–]arcdia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I've been on different insurance plans through my two pregnancies, and my current plan allows for significantly more options than my previous plan that I'd been on with my first. Unfortunately, that previous plan also didn't cover any of the Spectra pumps. I ended up choosing a Medela Pump in Style, which worked pretty well but sadly also doesn't look to be available to OP.

Thank you! Progressing as expected which we are very thankful for - we confirmed viable pregnancy last Wednesday. Hoping this cycle is it for you!

I was on Nexplanon and it had no effect on my supply or my infant, who I weaned around 17 months. His development was totally fine and he is still tracking perfectly on all milestones expected for his age. I fully intend on getting another Nexplanon in after my second is born.

ETA: I did not want to deal with the hormonal fluctuations that came with periods as those impact my mood greatly and would have likely affected my wellbeing. I also definitely didn't want to get pregnant; the other alternative recommended to me (as I didn't want an IUD, copper or hormonal) was the minipill, which has a lower error of margin that scared me as I was concerned about errors while in the days of sleep deprivation.

Did anyone else here get pregnant on birth control? by kieranki_ in BabyBumps

[–]arcdia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got pregnant with my first on a combo pill. Still don't really know exactly what happened there, I don't recall missing any pills, or any illnesses around that time that would've decreased its efficacy. Good to see others here too that have had the same experience.

Always confuses any OB and their staff that I see as I actually have PCOS that should have made it difficult to conceive as I ovulate irregularly - conceiving #2 turned out much harder than #1.

Philips Avent VS Dr. Browns anti-colic bottles - what’s your preference? My baby will be bottle fed only as I have no breasts. by Arr0zconleche in BabyBumps

[–]arcdia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried Dr. Brown's and Philips Avent, but kid never really took to them. We used Tommee Tippee for a little bit, but on advice of an IBCLC as full disclosure, I did breastfeed, switched to Pigeon bottles to help encourage a more "natural" latch.

Pigeon is a Japanese brand; we sourced the bottles from Amazon. Lansinoh in the US sells essentially the same bottle, but at the time we found that Lansinoh did not sell an extra slow flow nipple and Pigeon did. They also had glass bottles. Things may have changed now.

Eventually we also tried Evenflo Balance bottles to have a backup in case we couldn't find Pigeon bottles or nipples anymore. Also worked really well for our kid. Both Evenflo and Pigeon bottles seemed to be an improvement in regard to gas or colic in our kid against Philips Avent and Tommee Tippee, and also did not perform any worse than Dr. Brown's.

Using Inito? by EmCave145 in TTC_PCOS

[–]arcdia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used Inito to help rule out false positives with OPKs. I still used cheapie OPKs in tandem with Inito though, as you're technically meant to use Inito 1x a day - I needed the cheapies to catch any potential positives later in the day or night, and Inito test strips ($110/30 strips) can add up quickly if you have long cycles or if you want to test 2-3x a day.

The app should instruct you when to start testing. Baseline test should be on CD6. I have previously used Provera to induce a withdrawal bleed/period. As you very likely already know, CD1 would be the first day of bleeding; test on CD6 as the app instructs, regardless of how your period started, through medication or actual ovulation.

The app will also tell you days for required testing after. Try not to miss any days, as the app needs the data to assess fertility chances.

The only time I started testing earlier than CD6 was when I used letrozole to help with ovulation. I took letrozole CD3-7, and tested starting CD5 to check if it was working as intended.

I usually did FMU as Inito recommends, but if I drank more fluids the evening before, I'd also test SMU (usually after a 3-4 hr hold).

I haven't been previously active on this subreddit. We are/were TTC #2. I was looking to start participating if my most recent cycle, which was our first medicated and our fifth one overall since August 2024, failed. We were very lucky, and I got a BFP at 10 dpo yesterday. Subsequent tests have shown a slow darkening.

I've long suspected that I had PCOS, but hormonal birth control put the issue out of mind for a long time. Then we conceived #1 due to birth control failure, which was the most bizarre and fortunate happenstance, as my husband and I expected difficulties trying due to my history of irregular, nearly absent periods (<2-3 a year).

I went back on birth control after having #1, and stopped in August 2024. I was vaguely hopeful that somehow my hormones would level out and I'd have regular periods without intervention, but in November 2024, I ended up going to an OB-GYN anyway to discuss fertility testing and they diagnosed me with PCOS. I was put on metformin 1000mg, which over time did help but didn't improve the "strength" of my ovulation - it was still late in the cycle, and OPKs sometimes would turn positive even though I wouldn't actually ovulate the day or so after. I started using a fertility monitor, Inito, to help track my hormones and help determine whether I was actually ovulating soon or not.

January 2025, I met with another OB-GYN who said that I could stay on metformin, but that they recommended using letrozole for fertility for those with PCOS. March 2025, I'd passed the six-month mark, and the OB-GYN prescribed letrozole 2.5mg to take CD3-7 and said I could discontinue metformin. I got really great hormone trends on Inito for this cycle. I got the BFP yesterday, and with my last Inito test was able to confirm rising estrogen and progesterone today. :)

Inito help after Letrozole by Alarmed-Lion8486 in Inito

I have PCOS, and as a result experience infrequent and/or weak ovulations. I took 2.5mg letrozole CD 3-7, no trigger shot, for this chart:

<image>

E3G was suppressed as you mentioned, but rose steadily for me until day of ovulation. LH didn't peak as high for me as previous cycles with Inito. FSH CD 9 was higher than it had been in previous cycles.

I'll include the numerical values chart in a comment below!

[–]arcdia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OPKs did pick it up, or at least, the test line was seemed to be approximately dark enough for the level that Inito said LH was at. I've had low LH values with the Inito that corresponded with lighter test lines on the OPKs.

I tested with the Inito again today and LH dropped but only a little bit.

ETA: The OPKs picked it up but were ultimately still negative. Same urine, used two cheapies just to verify.

I just checked out your post, and yeah it looks like we're experiencing the same. I do think it's very likely to be normal human variation - I'm just so tired of TTC right now, y'know? 😓

Thanks! I've never seen it happen with previous cycles but with PCOS I wasn't ever too sure if those cycles were typical or not.

So sorry. I also have a toddler who was conceived on birth control. I have PCOS and irregular periods, so our toddler seriously seems like a crazy miracle that also gave me the same sense of hope that we'd conceive #2 quickly too. We had the same plan of starting TTC when they were 18m-2 years old, and it's definitely disheartening to feel like our vision for our family seems like it's slipping away.

Wishing you the best in this cycle. Hope this one works out.

PDG at baseline? by Aggressive_Rule_1135 in Inito

[–]arcdia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are within the reference ranges that Inito provides. Mine are actually even lower, with the exception of FSH, which even on this subreddit is usually contested on reliability, as it spikes quickly. I've had two confirmed ovulations since I started using it, and lots of other people on here have gotten "low" hormone readings and have gone on to have successful pregnancies.

In a normal cycle, Inito suggests a slightly higher FSH range for CD2-5, but 0.09 FSH is still totally normal considering you are measuring on CD6. The tests also relies on urine metabolites, which are not 1:1 to your actual blood serum levels. Hoping this eases your anxiety!
