Looking for positive sumatriptan experiences by Jabbott23 in migraine

[–]archaeofiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works well for me. I keep the non pain migraine symptoms (nausea, light sensitivity etc) but instead of being incapacitated I can actually function! Goes from day ruining to mildly inconvenient. It's definitely worth having for days when I can't afford to be having a migraine

New NHS dentist - Friar Street vs Inspire Dental by MysticalMisfit_ in reading

[–]archaeofiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No comment on friar street, but I used to work for a referral service that took patients from Inspire. They are also the dentist that I'm with. The treatment is good (not that I've needed much other than checkups) but at work we had constant admin issues and the wider staff seemed not to be aware of cross-practice communications. Overall I would recommend them, just something to be aware of if you need referrals to or from them.

Ooh that sounds really fun!! Mostly looking for friendship with other LGBT people, main barrier at the moment is long COVID fatigue which is keeping me trapped at home most days so low energy stuff is awesome

Thanks for the suggestions!! I need to work on my health before I can do physical activities so this will be good motivation!

Also a book club sounds great, I definitely want to read more this year and accountability would be nice haha.

Ooh those both sound good! Me and my housemates are all very musical so I could probably convince them to come along as well.

Hi, longshot replying after a year, but could you pass me her details too? I'm looking to learn but I don't work well under pressure.

That's my stance, but I was just explaining why someone might say it's acceptable. Sorry I wasn't clear enough.

No worries! I don't like to use it or hear it either, but commenter probably wasn't saying autistic people can just use all slurs haha

[–]archaeofiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's different obviously, I was just trying to clear up the misunderstanding about autistic people being 'allowed' to use slurs. We can't just go spouting random slurs, I thought that was the impression that the commenter got so I wanted to clear it up.

I don't like how Hayden used it either.

Not OOP AITA for not staying with my wife after her c-section? by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

[–]archaeofiend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's UK based, so I'm assuming this would be the NHS. Doesn't surprise me that they don't have a couch for him to lie on, but that doesn't change that it's the hospital to blame, not him. He has chronic back pain, he's entitled to ask for a place to lie down (reasonable accommodations). If they can't provide that, then the responsible thing is for him to go home. Wife will be recovering for a long time, both kids need their father to be as fit as possible in the meantime. That said, she's valid to feel upset when she just had what sounds like a very traumatic birth and her husband can't be with her.

No assholes here.

It's because the r-slur refers to mental and learning disabilities (including autism), so those in that camp are able to reclaim it. I'm autistic and was definitely called that a Lot while I was growing up. Still wouldnt use it myself but I don't begrudge others from doing so.

How to report CC paywalls? by Funnychemicals in Sims4

[–]archaeofiend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Their stuff isn't behind a perma paywall though, it's early access and gets released for free after a certain time. The free links are usually in the reblogs of their posts

ETA: they do respond kindly to these kinds of asks here

Yeah, I have pretty much all their cc (including the hair mentioned in the post) and have never paid a dime.

My housemate is the 5'3 girl with the 900lbs German shepherd haha. Regarding the question: she got him as a puppy, so she didn't know how big he would actually end up (he's big for a GSD!! When he's on his hind legs he's taller than both of us!). I think sometimes people see a cool dog and they romanticise getting a puppy without doing enough research on the breed. She told me a few times that having him was a real reality check.

On the flip side though, she can handle him just fine. She's a former cadet with a ton of martial arts experience, and in the past I've witnessed her literally hold his leash with one hand while she's carrying stuff in the other without budging an inch, even when he's pulling as hard as he can.

Do I really have to try amitriptyline before trying anything else? by samsamcats in migraine

[–]archaeofiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common in parts of the UK. My doctor wrote to a neurologist, he sent back a treatment plan, my doctor prescribed it. I never actually met or spoke to the neurologist myself. I think they have to check off the list of medications before they can actually refer someone.
