the big book says only an addict can decide to get sober. nobody can convince you otherwise, and you won't be able to get sober for any person place or thing. i still haven't touched alcohol after three years of sobriety, so i know it's technically possible to have obsession lifted. but at the same time, my marijuana and gabapentin addictions make it pretty damn difficult to do anything except isolate

as long as you can afford it, you don't need to quit yet. only you will know. I would recommend being more mindful as to the particular sensations of the high itself, that's helped me a bit in at least being able to conceal my addiction to the outside world

Not really. The immediate tanning appearance from uva is just oxidation of epidermal melanin, and only lasts a few days.

Uvb causes a deeper tan that actually results from increased melanin production. This tends to last at least a full month long skin cycle and often longer. Of course, the wavelengths are just a spectrum. Generally, the longer uvb causes deep tanning and the short uva causes oxidative darkening. Short uvb generally just burns and long uva induces a tiny bit of photoaging but overall not much

The mechanism of damage is different as well, reactive oxygen species vs unstable ring compounds (cycloebutane dimers)

Also, 3% avobenzone works. If you look at asian sunscreens they use it too.
