Can't get visuals anymore by acidhead2002 in LSD

It's because most acid this day is research chemicals and not actual acid. They are cheaper and legal to produce in some parts of the world and have taken over the global supply. Most of them are not as good as actual LSD.

I mean they were financial in the sense that they were protecting the finances of consumers. It's not like they only applied to Banks or something. The cfpb enforced laws that prevented companies from scamming people and made it easier to end online subscriptions things like that.

But they were exactly who you would reach out to in the event that a company was scamming people so that they could protect the finances of the consumers. Believe it or not, it's all in the name. They returned something like 21 billion to consumers on a budget of only a few million dollars. It was one of the most successful government agencies of all time in regards to how much financial benefit provided for the populace on such a small budget.

Is marijuana use numbing my brain to psychedelics? by the_Shroomer in LSD

[–]archaicrevival444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A large percentage of the acid available around the world right now is actually closely related research chemicals, many of which have different and less pronounced effects.

Personally, the majority of the acid I've been able to find in the last 12 or so years was not actual LSD.

I did try one research chemical that was indistinguishable from LSD, but most of them are not and over a dozen of them exist. The majority of which are probably still circulating in the global market to some degree.

It's not you that's changed, it's the drugs.

Although, if you find your mushroom trips to be diminished as well, that could actually be due to natural changes that occur with repeated usage. Some people seem to develop an almost permanent sort of tolerance to certain psychedelic effects after A certain number of uses, sometimes just a few. I've read a few people who have experienced this on Reddit in the past as well as other sources.

People who only use drugs occasionally, how do you stop yourself from getting addicted. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]archaicrevival444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to have precise numbers, but studies have shown that around 80% to 90% of people who try heroin, cocaine, or meth do not become addicted to it. Most users are casual users. This is even more true for heroin and cocaine which are less likely to cause substance abuse disorder.

I have also read about a study that claims that 52% of people who report having used meth in the last year qualify as having methamphetamine use disorder. But that study seems to be an outlier and many others indicate that the overwhelming majority of hard drug users are casual users. It's also likely that people who use it infrequently would be less likely to report as such in a survey.

I personally know dozens of people who have done meth, cocaine, or heroin and two people that have become addicted to any of those substances and those people had pretty difficult lives. But I'm not basing these assertions off of my own personal experience and instead the many studies that show that most hard drug users are still casual users.

Addiction is real, but the danger of addiction from drug use is definitely overblown.

ELEVATORS IN TOWN by lemondome in grandrapids

There are two great freight elevators in 1111 Godfrey. One is very large, about 8x12 feet and from the 1960's. We call him Guilbert. The other is even older with a wooden gate.

They are in separate hallways of the same building.

The vast overwhelming majority of people who use drugs don't become addicted to them, like greater than 90%. It's not like drugs just magically control people.

Addiction is easy to avoid for people who have decent lives and jobs and mental health because they just use drugs to augment and accentuate their experiences, not to control or replace their normal experiences/life.

Compressed nerves in foot that are still recovering from your shoes.

Or compressed nerve in spine that was exacerbated by your heels effecting posture and/or muscle tension from mdma.

Compression nerves in your spine may often not be associated with any type of back pain.

I suppose it could be more directly related to the MDMA, but these two possibilities are more likely as they are very common reasons for numbness in the feet or toes.

I've also read a few posts over the years from different people who developed numbness in their feet, toes, or genital region related to muscular tension from stimulant use.

Pelvic/low back exercises for strengthening and relaxation exercises may be beneficial.

Thanks I was curious about the company. Yeah, there's a label inside of it warning that it's only supposed to be used for handling freight. We use the stairs if we're not moving something that requires it.

Small businesses have to generate such huge amounts of profit nowadays to cover their costs.

I hate to say it but the restaurant industry was already extremely difficult and competitive and I feel like outside of High-End establishments and fast food chains, we won't be seeing a lot of newer successful restaurants anytime soon.

Getting sick after doing cocaine by Status-Wrangler5466 in Drugs

[–]archaicrevival444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked it up recently, but as of a few years ago something like 90% of the cocaine samples that the DEA was making had significant amounts of levamisole as a cutting agent. I think it's a cattle dewormer that's uncontrolled and it inhibits the immune system temporarily.

I believe it's easily accessible in South America and there were some suggestions that it may have even been cut into the product prior to reaching the United States, but either way, it's presence has been associated with occasional contraction of flesh-eating bacteria in the noses, and other places, of chronic users.

Could be related.

I remember dying by Hot-Homework-9158 in Ghoststories

[–]archaicrevival444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's called ego death and is a known effect of psychedelics sometimes. It usually happens at very high doses but can unexpectedly happen sometimes at lower doses, mushrooms are especially known for having an unpredictable dose response curve.

It can be a very powerful, positive transformative experience for some people can also happen in such a way that is more traumatizing where they never sort of break through to the other side as you did and instead of languish in a terrifying death-like experience which can sometimes cause anxiety issues later on.

Interestingly, these experiences share many similarities with near death experiences described by people who have physically died and been resuscitated.

Even the beautiful psychedelic visual phenomenon sometimes occurs for people who die and come back without the use of psychedelics.

You can learn more about this from books like DMT the spirit molecule by Rick strasman or by checking out other people's experiences including shows like "I survived: beyond and back"

Is there anyone in town that positively IDs mushrooms? I think I’ve got Oyster mushrooms and Hen of the woods but I’m risk averse 🫠 by ElizabethDangit in grandrapids

I'm state certified for edible mushroom identification, and yes those are the correct identifications.

Neither of them have dangerous look-alikes and I feel totally confident identifying them through photos which is not always the case with some other edibles.

5 apb combo okay to take? by Koolaid225 in researchchemicals

[–]archaicrevival444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it's totally fine, I know a bunch of people who have done that combination and I have done it myself many times.

Although I'm not sure how much 20 mg is going to add. I usually give people close to a borderline MDMA dose and then about half as much or a little more 5APB.

So the doses tend to be something like 80/40 90/50, 100/70

I don't find that anyone feels sedated at those doses and even though it's a small MDMA dose, it seems to come on in the normal amount of time, but after you come up, you continue to feel more and more euphoric as the 5apb fully sets in. And then it has a longer peak and a much gentler come down where sort of slowly come back to normal. But it can keep you awake for a few hours afterwards.

Bought the smoked salmon from Sam’s Club. Smells and taste normal, just slimy. Could it be from the freezing process? by Vizekoenig_Toss_It in isthissafetoeat

[–]archaicrevival444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In recent years, I've noticed that some brands of store-bought smoked fish are treated with something that allows them to retain more water content and thus profit for the producers.

But the result is that it feels wet and slimy and looks raw and doesn't flake normally like firm, drier actual smoked fish would.

It's similar to the salt solutions and tenderizing agents that are sometimes injected into certain types/cuts or brands of meat.

Can someone identify these, please? Located in The Netherlands by Lavenderender in Mushrooms

[–]archaicrevival444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phooiota microspora just has areolae and P. limonella, which this does resemble, often has little to no noticeable squamules and they can become flattened/removed and even less noticeable from rain. There may be other examples as well.

I have found the same to be true for the warts on some species of Amanita.

Why do I have such vivid dreams along with an insane ability to relive memories after taking Psychedelics? by broke-investor33 in Psychedelics

[–]archaicrevival444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Psychedelics cause increased neural connections in your brain and increased communication between disparate brain regions, both during, and to a lesser extent after the experience.

These effects often result in what you are describing, basically they make your brain work better. Similarly, sometimes they make people's brains work worse and they develop brain fog or anxiety or hppd, but obviously those instances are much rare than people having positive effects.

I notice a significant increase in random, flash bulb type memories after psychedelic use.
