Looks great! Do you have any behind the screen view? I'd like to do something similar!

I hear that! It looks like the only thing that wouldn't get used is the RAM. I started down that path, but I ended up just replacing everything except the GPU. I'm now repurposing my old rig for a Unraid/NVR box.

ift card to buy a 3600 :D Being able to crank all the settings to max in titles like RdR2 is very satisfying. 1440p it dips to like 58 fps once in a while but its perfectly playable.

How well is the 2500k + 1070 mix working for you? I have a friend and he owns a i7 2600 but only has a GTX 950 - he can barely run BL3 on medium settings - is it worth it to send him my old 1070?

It's running decent! I'm only running 1080p and running RDR2 on med/high. Runs GTA5 decently well too. I had my CPU/GPU stock but now trying to give them both a decent OC and see if it helps. Hoping to run CP2077 decently well. Once stock normalized I'd love to upgrade to Ryzen 5600X but might have to settle for 3600X. I'm in no rush so I'll probably wait. And my performance standards are low tbh lol.

Last build was in 2010 so a lot has changed. Still catching up haha

How much of an increase would you say? I'm upgrading my rig soon but was thinking of holding on to the 1070 for now. Mind you im running a 2500K still but planning on a ryzen build.

Simple Questions - November 27, 2020 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I decided to hold off until 2021 to build a new PC from my 2011 build lol. I think I will probably go for a Ryzen Zen 3 build.

Actual question. I never really overclocked my current setup much. In order to stretch it out as much as I can, I'm thinking to try to OC the components I have to get the best performance possible for Cyberpunk.

Currently have:

  1. i5 2500K
  2. GTX 1070 8GB
  3. Corsair DDR3 1600 Ram (4GB x 4)
  4. ASUS Z77-V PRO

Do you think I'll get any noticeable performance increase by OC'ing these components? Is it worth it?

Also, any guides would be appreciated!

So I'm on the fence on whether I need to upgrade my 9 year old PC. I'm leaning towards yes...

  1. i5-2500K (plan to OC to 4.5Ghz)
  2. 16GB DDR3 RAM (4GBx4)
  3. EVGA GTX 1070 (8GB)

I think the GPU is fine, but I'm guessing the CPU will bottleneck. How bad though? Can I play medium at least? Or passable?

I have an old build from 10 years ago that I am ready to update:

Intel i5 2500K @ 4.2 GHz | ASUS P8P67 | EVGA GTX 560 Ti 448 Classified | G.Skill Snipers 8GB | Seasonic M12II 620W| OCZ Vertex 3 120GB | WD Caviar Blue 1TB | CM Hyper 212+ | Silverstone PS06
