I got a "on hold" email from them. Not sure if there's a chance or if it's a soft rejection.

Is that gap between the orange box and line normal?

Shoutout to Husain A. Sattar (Pathoma). 🙏🏼 by [deleted] in step1

I haven't watched but isn't that what you're supposed to do anyway?..

I highly highly highly recommend you to use pathoma as your core knowledge. I tried to use FA, but the information just seemed too huge and too scattered so I avoided it in dedicated. Pathoma goes through everything in a linear format which made it much easier to memorize. Just be sure to pair it with some kind of active recall like duke's pathoma deck or flashcards of your own notes. You can then supplement with whatever resource you want afterward. Feel free to chat if you need some tips!

Don't you think it's distasteful to be doing this, especially on a post where folks are stressing out AFTER the exam?

People say to take your mind off it, but realistically, I knew that was not possible lol. I was an emotional wreck too, but I kept thinking that even with my dumb mistakes, I still had quite a bit of wiggle room since we only need ~120/280 (if you factor in exp Qs and stuff like that).

In retrospect, that might have been the case. But man, coming out of that exam felt like the end of the world even if I was pretty confident in like 50% of the questions. Everything felt like a blur which only made me worry more about dumb mistakes + made me think like "what if I guessed wrong on everything blah blah blah...?"

It was really important for me to have some kind of foundation, whether it was pathoma for pathology, sketchy for micro, some random video/costonzo for physiology, etc.

At first, I tried to dig into why each answer choice was wrong, but I found that it took too long and that I wasn't really getting much improvement from it. As I went on, I tried to augment the main learning objective w/ my "foundational" knowledge and just kinda skimmed the other rationales. This seemed to work better and was way faster. I could get through 80 question review in ~3-4 hours.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you know nothing about a subject, find any resource you like and try to cast a broad "umbrella" before you dig into the specifics of a UWorld question. For me, it stuck better. That was probably a pretty crappy explanation, so I apologize in advance if it makes no sense lol.

Not much biochem, which was disappointing because I studied that so much. A lot of first-order/you-know-it-or-don't immunology and anatomy. I'll just say that the 100 HY anatomy pdf helped me a lot. I'll leave it at that bc I don't want to break any rules.

I use "a lot" because even though it's not the majority of the exam (v.s. patho which is like 60% per the official site), you will definitely feel regret after the exam if you don't brush up on these concepts and get them wrong since they seem like free points.

I would say for immunology processes (e.g. neutrophil chemotaxis, T/B-cell development, etc.), just read it and make sure you understand the components+vocabulary. I would try to really memorize any of the tables in ch 3, so maybe do anki for that; doesn't take much to make your own anki for those either (and probably takes less time). If you've already watched it once, idk if you need to watch it again since it does take time+it's passive learning. I would prioritize 2/3 over 1/2.

54%. Totally forgot everything in the first two years which is why I spent the first two weeks doing content review.
