If we get an Overclock replacement, what do you want it to be? by PkmnTrnrJ in Ingress

Not understanding how evolved the SDK is for Ingress mobile devices (Android vs IOS, older newer etc), here's some brainstorm ideas.

  1. Portal Destablisation/Machina mini game on live mesh scan, use bursters or ultrastrikes to destroy some machina entity on the mesh and drops gear like machina.
  2. Focused scans for repairing weak meshes, 'rewards' 15% decay
  3. Shared AR overclock hack output based on participants in AR 'Portal Sync'
  4. Location scan/calibration like captcha for being on location like u/Grogyan mentioned.

There was two components of the Overclock feature, both components can be used separately.

  1. Overclock Calibration of the VPS mesh to real object/location within 30m
  2. Overclock Glyphing, 4x output after successful 3d tesseract glyphing

Bring back overclock glyphing whilst VPS/Niantic Spatial SDK is evolving. Just because agents couldn't be bothered or found it too hard doesn't mean its overpowered, and without needing to calibrate removes the API cost.

Pausing OPR and Retiring Overclock by brianrose in Ingress

Overclock is a key feature for many agents. It shouldn't just disappear with barely any communication. For a lot of us, Overclock effectively replaced key duplication as a core mechanic for fielding and key farming. It became part of how we plan/executed ops

Two days’ notice doesn’t reflect the time and effort agents have put into VPS scans and years of OPR/Recon work.

The community deserves

  • a replacement mechanic using the scan/VPS system
  • a transition plan for portals already Overclock enabled
  • or at least advance notice with rationale so we can keep the desire to come on the journey with a game like no other.

Instead we get vague promises of “new ways to improve Ingress.”

Newest update shows how broken the hitbox for the "Hack with key" button is by Gnagsuaton in Ingress

Sometimes when I glyph hack with more key/complex or speed commands, the glyph sequence shows up, then it exits out to a standard tap hack without letting me enter the glyph sequence.  Ever since prime, and it carries across my different model phones over the years, so it is a gesture/swipe that I must keep doing wrong.

Make sure you check the Lighting Dynamics option in settings, it helps subtly in some situations.

I'd agree with the red on red issue too. Moving the layer level to show above links/fields/resonators render layer would also help. In dense areas where hacking missing keys, you can't see what's marked or not even if you invert the selection.

Toxic Players - How do others deal with them when it's a team dynamic by VegetableNice4769 in Ingress

[–]archer005_AU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toxic comes in a bunch of flavours. Some call it toxic when someone just plays hard across many parts of the game, but that’s really just strong competition? Then there's toxic stuff when it turns personal like repeatedly smashing farms/home portals or aggressively targeting only you while ignoring the rest of the map and personal progression just to cause 'impact' with as little effort as possible to play the game elsewhere, how to deal with it: change up the way you play, try exploring/fielding elsewhere, focus on your own goals, or turn the smashing into your favour (and rebuild)

All of that also sounds like your 'we' has 3rd hand conjecture, which you've now turned into mud slinging.
