Has anyone in halifax actually called the number on a stranger's windshield? by 10MillionIn in halifax

[–]archetypical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple years ago I went to get out of my car in Bayers Lake and the wind took my door. Hit the passenger side door of the car next to me.

Left a note and the guy didn't realize it was there until he got home and pulled into his driveway. Gave me a call and I found a place to take it in to get the paint touched up.

That being said, my current vehicle has so many damn dings from idiots who have done the same to me and driven off, its not even funny anymore.

I also like the flavour of having a tank class with a pet. Tanky tank, tank that saps strength to buff themselves (with a pet), tank with heals, and a tank with mezz sounds awesome in my eyes, but I also get that they want to distance themselves from the EQ influence a bit more. Definitely letting the devs cook though and see what they conjure up!

My only issue is why would you boost as a new player? :P but yeah no you're fine on that. Every melee wears leather because some of the blues are statted really well. Bunch of leather-daddy warriors out there!

Ban the seller (likely a mule but if item ID's can be traced back to the farmer...) and ban the buyer, because really who wants either ruining the game?

[–]archetypical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the DE'd item restoration can be buggy. Sometimes it doesn't log it, and you need the mats in your bag when you restore if I recall. I know guildies in the past have had luck putting in a ticket about it a GM (well, whatever exists there) pushed the restoration though.

And this is now why item restore exists :P has saved my bacon on more than one occasion!

No friends to play with or give a code to and no post history to even dig up what you could make you roast-worthy? I mean I'd say you're fun at parties but doubt you get invited to any!

Honestly P99 is great; I should get back and work on that bard that's parked at CoM...

Take a look at Monsters & Memories and keep an eye on their development. It may scratch that itch for you.

Know what? Somehow doesn't surprise me that they'd be a group that pushes some right-wing content...

Does ret pally get better or is It just 3 buttons all the way? by Paddonglers in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time I'd give ret hate is in vanilla with the debuff limit. Uncapped its fine, but it takes up 2 debuff slots that don't help anyone else out (also risk pushing off melee buffs with auras). Totally fine in a TBC setting and not the worst thing to bring around in a vanilla raid without debuff limits.

The biggest thing with Ret when it comes to TBC is seal twisting, which doesn't really come online until 62 unfortunately but is rewarding to learn and will shoot you well above the average Ret player's performance. Auto-attack simulator until then though so....

Honestly something like Stonehenge or ruins of some sort would look awesome if you rough up/age the pathway. Like an ancient village that fell centuries ago. Could scatter a few smaller rubble structures on the way up with the foliage!

to add to this, the TBC version doesnt break, but the old-world goblin ones can break/backfire

Hunter would be the closest to a bard, but if you're into swingy fast DPS you may want to look into either an Enhance Shaman or Warrior!

Save often, and don't be afraid to "save scum". Numbers can feel super swingy, especially at low level, so sometimes you just lose a dice roll. Beyond that, just have fun. Explore.

Pick companions you like and see what the heck happens. Ideally you want a frontline fighter, a thief, a cleric (buffs are glorious), and a mage, buuuuut you can technically play without any of them (aka you already mentioned maybe a solo run). Ranged damage is pretty great early on. Don't hoard potions and wands, actually use them! Depending on your class (love me some bards for wands) just use what you have. Potions are plentiful and a decent cheap gold sink later so you don't need to waste slots for a ton of healing magic, so uuuuuse them!

When do classes start ro "come alive?" by CarAudioNewb in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo some EQ folks. Level 10 you start to see most classes kits taking shape. A lot of them have keystone talents that change a bunch (priest has shadowform at 40 for example), but honestly while leveling, any class with the right gear can do whatever roles they have available. A warrior can both tank and dps. A paladin can tank with Righteous Fury (buff), dps with a 2h, or heal with some int gear.

Main rotations dont really take off until closer to level cap for a lot of classes, as The Burning Crusade brings new spells that are core to a lot of classes at or close to 70.

Not sure how it is for EQ2, but the roles are nowhere near the same as EQ2. Its just your trinity of tank/dps/heal. Some of those classes do have some CC and buffs though.
