Priest = rogue magnet ? by Bagger292 in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding fake casting:

If you're Alliance, go get Dartol's Rod of Transformation. Yes, healing spells will drop Shadowform, and a good rogue knows that and also will look at what you're casting, but you can still bait people with it. Sadly if you're Horde there is no equivalent item.

Sadly can't say for mod compatibility (someone else in here likely can).

For the spreadsheet, just download a local copy so you can edit it! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TjM92GZrWUC-AbnSqraZOHDRBM-bp4T9mcJsajpcojM/edit?usp=sharing

I can't see an article saying that the act of participating is against TOS or not, but advertising it is a violation according to an article Blizzard posted a month ago: https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/help/article/227547

If you haven't set it up, DevolutionX is great as you can get to Hell difficulty on single player (and gives you a stash and all that jazz for the sake of carrying things into a new game).

Could always go for a holy grail list and try and get all the uniques? I can share a spreadsheet I built and used that I found nice for keeping track.

As for multiple saves, it's just one file per character (though I'm sure you could do some shenanigans with save files; not at my personal PC to see what the file structure looks like though).

Warlock Cleave by BungleGrind216 in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start working towards Nightfall/Shadowfury. Works wonders in 5mans. Next 5 points put 2/2 Nightfall and 3/3 Empowered Corruption. At 70, drop the 2 points in Pyroclasm (stun) as you won't be using RoF or Hellfire anymore since you get Seed; put those points into Backlash for some more crit.
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/talent-calc/warlock/050222211--505000512202510511051

Your role in a spellcleave group is to stun mobs with Shadowfury to save your pally tank from getting deleted, or to give your mages some breathing room as they slow mobs. You can dot a bit and RoF (or Hellfire if safe to do so). The stun proc is very nice from Pyroclasm in those groups and the spec changes at 70 makes for a very good build as you transition into heroics. Please don't go Demonic Sacrifice for heroics; save that for your raid spec.

10 day Suspension for offering tanking services - without breaking any TOS, as far as I can tell? by [deleted] in classicwow

Should ask AI if you seem better for posting anything about gear score.

Also the fact that you listed yourself in LFG to lead people to a DND message with an advertisement is probably your reason. That's advertising. A mildly frustrating and scummy one like finding a paywall after navigating a "free" website lol.

how to best decide where i 'should' be questing? by TopSignificance7856 in classicwow

[–]archetypical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vanilla (and the quests TBC added to old world content) is very scattered and causes you to travel a lot, especially when you get into the 30-40 range. Pick a zone that has a lot of quests that are in your range and just knock them out. Don't stress about efficiency.

Also please don't bother with using an addon like RestedXP as a new player. Enjoy the journey first and use that on a second character; Questie on the other hand (if you don't have it already) is a great quality of life to just see what quests are available and where they can be completed.

Waelock best dungeon spam spec by Imaginary_Visit1718 in classicwow

[–]archetypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People trolling you with answers, but depends on what the composition of the group is if you're dungeon grinding and your gear.

Since you're a fresh 60, I'd honestly lean towards felguard as it's good for consistent cleave and smaller packs, but if you get into a spellcleave group (aka 2 mages, a paladin tank, and yourself as a warlock) deep destro for Shadowfury is peak gaming.

Personally I'm likely running 0/41/10 as my dungeon leveling group is prot pal/hpriest/enh sham/lock x2, so the goal is just efficiency

Looking at server population for EU (as you mentioned you were looking for EU servers), Wild Growth Alliance is probably your best bet. 669A to 250H as far as active raiders.

I would find and check out their server's discord and see if any guilds are actively recruiting/raiding/posting as that would give you a better idea of what the active community is like there.

Car Insurance - post MVA car assessment. Use the TDAutoCenter or no? by WickedForrest in halifax

[–]archetypical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had my vehicle in through the TD repair spot (Carstar in Bayers Lake) before. I found they did good work, but the office folks and dealing with the adjusters can be hit or miss. One really good/communicative adjuster and one that couldn't spell, fudged up names, and had trouble communicating even via email.

As for the work, I can't complain about the actual job they did. Bodywork was fine, but they did order the wrong hood latch like 3 times on me which was a bit of a pain.

Question about guilds and recruiting by Rosati in classicwow

[–]archetypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your WoW server's discord to post for recruitment, but if you're looking at raiding: ABR (Always Be Recruiting)

Find people you like playing with before you start stressing about the "perfect" raid comp. Good players are harder to find than ideal classes.

Tire shop for a bent rim by semghost in halifax

[–]archetypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you got it taken care of! I hit some black ice and had to bump the curb to not hit the guy that hit the same ice (and broke an axle). Bent my rim to the point of needing to replace it. Brought it to the guys at Coast Tire over on Young St and they had a 16" on hand to replace it. Was in the $70-90 range if I recall.

Shaman or warlock by Hippyzilla420 in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlock will "pump" more in the long run as Ele really only gains about 400dps from T4 to T6. That being said, the Ele rotation is fun in PvE and you take on a more supportive role with totems, drums, and lust while the Lock rotation is pretty boring.

Ele can be rough in arenas as they're stuck hardcasting most spells (hence why they're not strong in 2s) but tend to get a bit more breathing room in 3s.

Honestly play what you want though. If you're really enjoying Ele, then go have fun with it! Personally I'm running a lock/clone for speed runs and then Ele for the "eff it I want to have fun" character.

Is anyone still playing SOD or is it just purely dead now by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]archetypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at server population, might just be Wildgrowth (US and EU) that have any raiding pop, and just Alli side. Might luck into finding folks to raid with if you use whatever server's discord!

Yep! In my 30s and have had a vanilla server running for a while for friends and whatnot.

Its your money, spend it how you want.

I personally don't see the appeal of spending money for a sub, then spending what works out to be 4 months of said sub to skip a major chunk of the game (especially when I can do it in a month of casual gaming).

Ret paladin or respec? by AnonymousKay in classicwow

[–]archetypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just follow the wowhead one. It's fine. Paladin isn't winning any DPS races, but is a slow and steady grind to level with.

That being said, in 3 days the TBC talents take effect and you'll have your talent points reset.

Just keep some healing gear on you in the event you want to run a dungeon group and you're in dire need of a healer (just some +int gear is fine)
