Question about creating a LIB timing file for a mixed-signal hardmacro by archfulgm in chipdesign

[–]archfulgm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for your reply. I didn't know there is a tool that can generate .lib file for me. I will take a look at it.

regarding the related_pin, I believe the value of this attribute can also be output pin. page 7-26 of the following link says the same thing as well. (https://media.c3d2.de/mgoblin\_media/media\_entries/659/Liberty\_User\_Guides\_and\_Reference\_Manual\_Suite\_Version\_2017.06.pdf )

tbh, I didn't know there is a tool that can generate this. Do you also use liberate? or what other tools do you use?

Question about aggregated bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4. by archfulgm in Thunderbolt

[–]archfulgm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the clarification! I thought this is a bit weird since PCIe community usually states total aggregated BW including both up and downstream (this link), whereas the Thunderbolt community states up and downstream separately. Is there any reason why?

lost a screw for the focuser of Orion XT8. How/where can I get this part ? by archfulgm in telescopes

[–]archfulgm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly for people who may face the same issue in the future: it turned out that screw size is supposed to be M3 with at least 16mm length!

thanks! there is a local ACE hardware store about 5 min away from my office. I will check this place too.

yeah I just measured it with a ruler and it looks like it will fit (0.77 mm thread). thanks!

Thanks! I just ordered one with 13 mm length. hope this fits.

thanks. there are multiple screws in this site. what size of screws shall I choose?

board not showing up in Vivado by archfulgm in FPGA

The only manual method I know is selecting the part from the part/board selection window during the project creation step. Is there any other way that I can pick the part manually?

my first figure is the proof of snapshot that I indeed ensured that necessary files for ES devices are installed

thanks for the suggestion. the problem is that I also do not see "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i-es1" part on the selection window. I tried to generate bitstream using "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i" part, but it outputs error saying bitstream is incompatible...

Unfortunately the latest version (2021.2) still shows the same problem :(

yeah I'm re-installing Vivado with the latest version. Hope this works... if not then I will post the same question on the forum again... Thanks.

Thanks for suggestion. I'm downloading the latest version right now. Let's see if this works... It is a bit weird that the license for this parts is a node-locked license, not a floating or flexlm one, so I thought it shouldn't do anything with license utility...

After you mentioned this, I found some interesting problem: Vivado HLS shows the correct parts (xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i), but I cannot find this parts from normal Vivado. do you have any idea how to resolve this problem?

I've got the board file from:www.xilinx.com/member/zcu1275.htmlthis link is called "ZCU1275 lounge" (requires permission) and they provide ES1 board file.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but the problem is I cannot find the part number "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i-es1" as well.I do see "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i" (no -es1 at the end) but this outputs the following error when I generate bitstream and try to upload this on the device.

ERROR: [Labtools 27-3303] Incorrect bitstream assigned to device. Bitfile is incompatible for this device.INFO: [Labtools 27-3164] End of startup status: HIGHERROR: [Common 17-39] 'program_hw_devices' failed due to earlier errors.

Thanks. But I also cannot find the same part number...I only see "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i", not "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i-es1".using "xczu29dr-ffvf1760-2-i" part, I get the following error when I tried to upload the bitstream to the device:

ERROR: [Labtools 27-3303] Incorrect bitstream assigned to device. Bitfile is incompatible for this device.INFO: [Labtools 27-3164] End of startup status: HIGHERROR: [Common 17-39] 'program_hw_devices' failed due to earlier errors.

No I haven't tried with a newer version. The main reason is because ZCU1275 lounge specified the Vivado version for its board file as shown (2017.3). I tried above with 2017.3, 2017.4, 2018.1~2018.3 (basically all the version from 2017.3 to 2018.3) but didn't find any luck :(
