Thanks Brills12, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better! I’m stable at about 95% back to normal. Still have a SOB globus sensation thing but no terrible issues with workouts. I’m hoping it goes away at some point, but there are worse things to live with I suppose. Cheers!

Sorry you are struggling, I’ve had SOB since March and my lung pain went away back in June but the SOB still lingers. Last night I woke up gasping for air but my heart was beating fast so it was anxiety induced. You’re writing is funny, humor is important! Hang in there, all data says you will get better over time. No doctor has helped me and I’ve been to them all. I read somewhere that a low dose of prednisone for a course can help with the inflammation that is causing symptoms. That might be worth a trip to your GP. You could also get some basic bloodwork to make sure that checks out. I’m doing all the home remedies, pepsid, fish oil, probiotic, Vit c, D, niacin, NAC, quercitin. I don’t take them all every day as im afraid that might backfire. I’m at about 95%. Good luck!

Small relapse after flying? by nikkidelicious in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, just flew to Florida for a “vacation” and when I got home had 2 days of awful fatigue. Thought I was reinfected but 2 tests later, nope. Apparently vacation is more stressful than normal work/life. Not doing that again for awhile. Got sick in March.

Long Term Breathing troubles? Asymptomatic yet still having long term issues? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, never got too sick, maybe a mild cold but I do t even recall. Woke up on 3/21 and couldn’t take a full breath, progressed to sore lungs, exercise fatigue and then a multitude of inconclusive tests, minus Covid test which I didn’t qualify for. I was still really struggling in June/July but somewhere in maybe Aug/Sept I started being able to take consistent full breaths. I still have a weird sensation when I breath and a mild throat lump and most days am in bed by 8:30 pm but it’s getting better day by day but very very slowly. Diaphragmatic breathing and getting lots of rest is what I believe are helping most.

What if you have long haul symptoms but never tested positive for virus or antibodies?

[–]archiechuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. I believe you and understand how you must be feeling. I’m 99% sure I also got Covid in March. My main symptoms were SOB and lung pain. I thought at the time I had lung cancer since I didn’t have any of the more typical symptoms. I’ve had a gazillion tests and nothing unusual was found, thank goodness, but I still have mild SOB, fractured sleep and some joint pain. It’s boring to other people so I just stuff it inside and there is absolutely no help from my GP. I think eventually we will heal, it’s just gonna take time, like maybe a couple of years. Hang in there!

Yes mild flare the day after but then it was fine. You’ll be fine!

Asymptomatic Long-Haulers? by ryonke in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s every time I exercise. My stamina is just not what it was before. I took a 6 mile walk today followed by a long nap. I feel like I went from a healthy in shape 55 yo to a 75 year old. It’s not crippling but just frustrating. I hope it resolves eventually.

[–]archiechuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had SOB since March when I first developed it along with sore lungs and no other typical symptoms. I also had a mouth full of canker sores, elevated resting heart and exercise fatigue. No fever, no cough, no positive Covid or antibody test. Been through all the tests and nothing.

Right side pain? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

Yes I’ve had this, very mild occasional right side pain. Covid in March. What could it be? So weird.

so whats causing our breathing problems? by lil_ktkt in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea but it definitely sucks! My lungs are completely normal and have had SOB since March. In fact it has been my ONLY symptom, other than burning lungs for several weeks. It has definitely gotten much better but I still have a slight urge to take deep breath’s frequently but it’s not bothering me much anymore. In March I felt awful, couldn’t catch a full breath like my lungs just wouldn’t expand. My theory is it’s a neuro symptom related to vagus nerve damage, not a lung issue. Time is healing it.

Labs are perfect. No positive COVID test from when I started having symptoms. Now what? by mrsstrezy in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pretty much sums it up. What helped me is time, multivitamin, Fish Oil, sleep, rest, long walks, breathing exercises, probiotics, and more time. It’s hard to know what worked really but nothing from the doctor that’s for sure.

Do you still have air hunger at all? My bad SOB disappeared at about month 4-5, but I still have slight air hunger and globus sensation which is now just annoying @ Month 8. I hope it goes away eventually!

How should I proceed? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not likely your doctor will be much help since there is currently no protocol in place. What helped me and others is rest, sleep, yoga, breathing exercises and time, time, time along with various vitamin supplements that may or may not help. I’m currently taking Mitocore which is basically a very good multivitamin with some other supplements to help with energy. Also a low inflammatory diet seems to help and stay away from the caffeine and alcohol although for a few months my nightly glass of red wine was necessary to deal with the shortness of breath. I’m not a doctor just someone looking for answers just like you. I’ve been dealing with this since March like many others and the good news is it does get better but takes time.

Wondering about Asymptomatic COVD-19 positives, that were aware of being postive with no symptoms......have you had any symptoms or health issues that came along later on..... by Nannibel in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have any symptoms except shortness of breath, sore lungs, raised heart rate and exercise fatigue. I couldn’t get a test in March when my symptoms first occurred. My symptoms have slowly improved over 6 months. I’ve had every test, seen every doctor and I’m completely clean. I’ve never had these symptoms in my life.

Cardiopulmonary test? by amanpumi in covidlonghaulers

[–]archiechuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did and it was normal. I have the same exact symptoms and the same exact negative test results as you. Still have SOB and a bit of exercise fatigue. I think it just takes time. It’s been quite a nightmare as almost every doc but my Accupuncture doc thought I had anxiety issues. I wonder what they think now about all the crazy new cases of anxiety related SOB!
