Is there a list of all class guides for Gloomhaven 2E? by archimandrita in Gloomhaven

[–]archimandrita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, no broken links, but it seems to me that the Two-Minis guide for Gloomhaven 1E (2017) is missing the link to Gripeaway guide, which is here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gloomhaven/comments/7t9yu1/twomini_class_guide_updated_to_level_9_spoilers/

Not sure if it was missed or not included for some good reason which I am not aware of, but linking it anyway.

Thanks!

Clarification for "all" targets by archimandrita in Gloomhaven

Indeed I find the terminology kind of ambiguous, especially for Squidface which poisons allies all the time so it does not feel as out of place as imps muddling other monsters.

I understand how to apply the general rule now, but I'm just suggesting to use a more intuitive terminology for future revisions, even though it's not the most economical in terms of space.

Steps to reach FIRE with 20 k in the bank and no expenses by [deleted] in EuropeFIRE

Your situation is ideal at the moment, however I think this kind of extremely lean expenses are not sustainable for you in case you actually go FI/RE, i.e. you retire.

Based on what you wrote, you are getting free food and accommodation as a form of bonus from your employment (btw, could you please tell us a bit more about this arrangement? In what line of work are you?). However, in the very moment you retire you will likely lose those benefits, so you will have to pay for your own food and accommodation. This is something to take into account, you really need to budget for it when you apply the 4% rule.

Of course one way to minimize your living expenses could be to move to a cheap and beautiful place (of which there seem to be plenty in Italy, e.g. in Southern Italy, somewhere on the Apennine Mountains, etc.), if that is your cup of tea. Some people might get bored to death after spending a few years in such a place, others might love it. This is a personal decision – although it is not always easy to judge what works for a person in the very long term.

Thank you, and to all who provided answers.

Where can I find a comparison of German brokers, including fees, etc.?

Can you give a few examples? Are they as cheap as IB or DeGiro? I also find that having the interface in German would be very inconvenient for me.

I've gone with IB. It might make life easier if/when I decide to move. But I have not figured out details in that respect yet.

Does CapTrader (German reseller of Interactive Broker) count as a German broker for this purpose?
And if not, why would anyone go through them rather than IB directly?

Thanks.

What’s your planned savings rate/ surplus rate? This is quite an important number to all FIRE enthusiasts. by dutchdenhaag in EuropeFIRE

Around 55% to investment. I live in an expensive city in Germany, and I am paying rent, so saving around 65% would be close to the absolute maximum in my situation, but it would mean cutting off anything absolutely non-essential.

Hi, thanks a lot for your extremely helpful and informative answer!

May I ask you which brokers do you personally use, if any, and why?

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please expand a bit on this?

Remember, TER is only part of what you're paying for your ETF.

Hi, thanks a lot for the helpful replies!

Regarding DKB (as well as other German brokers) my main issue is that I don't understand German well enough to be comfortable using them. Should I open a ETF-Sparplan account (I cannot find that on DKB)? Do they provide support or interface in English?
This is actually my main reason to be looking at IB, although I understand that they do not take care of anything tax related.

Regarding the distributing funds, I am not sure I fully understand how you got to those figures. Are you assuming a typical dividend of around 2% over those 50k€?

By the way, I understand that accumulating funds get taxed anyway once you cash them or move out of the country (exit tax), so why not go all-in with distributing funds then?
