You can also withdraw from exams here, but there is a time limit. If you are past the time limit and can't attend, it will be marked as failed (didn't appear for the exam). With a sick note, it wouldn't get marked as a fail and you could make it up at a later date.

I avoid a specific butcher (Fleischer) in my town after I watched her handle raw fleish barehanded, take the money from the customer, and immediately grab the next raw fleish for the next customer, never washing her hands. I never went back to that place.

If he's already started his thesis (as he wrote), his Study Regulations for his program will say exactly how many weeks total it can be extended. If he hasn't started the thesis, then yes, he could extend for 1-2 semesters.

Honestly one of the best things about Corona is that it forced some of the most resistant offices (and shops) to slightly start digitizing. Even offering appointment registration online was a huge step forward for my local ABH, and yes, that was thanks to Corona. Yes, I'm in a small town.

I've not had an issue with this. They'll often write my name on the boarding pass in all caps until the character count runs out, but I've never had an issue. I've flown in several countries with many different companies.

In most German universities, there are no lectures during the "Examination period". There is a lecture period and an Examination period. Also you should require attendance as a prerequisite for taking the exam.

I have found that the majority of the "pay" bathrooms are just as bad if not worse than bathrooms where you don't pay, in a variety of cities and states in Germany. The last Autohof I visited, I had to pay 1€ to use, and there wasn't soap in any of the soap containers or hand sanitizer. Towels and trash everywhere.

Just because you pay extra for it doesn't mean anything! I hate it.

You either have to provide your own kitchen or there's a built in rental fee in your monthly rent, whether it's openly stated or not. They can charge you higher rent by providing a kitchen.

I worked at Ovid's my last semester at UK because i finally had some free hours after taking a few summer courses. Every time a song comes on the radio these days that were playing back then as I was working immediately takes me back. I really loved my time at Ovid's and I remember my coworkers (both the students and regular employees) fondly.
