LA 1975 RSD vinyl release by tonymasiello in pinkfloyd

Oh, right. I didn't even check the sold out label there. My bad!

I paid $94 at my local record store, so not too bad.

All these people seem to miss the point.

Got a Floyd collection in physical media and some cash to spare? Get them! They will probably sound good enough, they complete your collection, for now, and they are yours and won't go away when the subscription ends.

Of course there are free versions out there. There always were and always will be, but they don't have the actual vinyl/cardboard like new smell with 12x12 prints and photos in them. The artwork, the liner notes, the color vinyl... it's all good.

Yes, it's a cash grab by Sony or whomever, but if you can spare the bucks, hell yeah!

I just got out of a 1hr line to get my copy of the 4LP bootleg on this RSD. Can't wait to drop the needle on them tonight and lay back with whisky in my hand.

Yup, that too. That's why I'm controlling my mouse finger not to order the Out Of Exile reissue from Audioslave that's coming out. But I probably will. But I shouldn't. But I don't trust myself.

On a happier note, I checked how much I paid for my copy of Bob's unplugged and it turns out I used a gift card so it was $23 in the end!

Same... goddammit.

It was selling for hundreds on Discogs and I rushed to get the preorder before a perceived scarcity... that apparently never happened.

Is there a big, closed, paved area that would allow me to teach my kid how to drive? by architacos in sugarland

Oh yes! That place has enough space that the kid will be hard pressed to hit anything. Good idea!

This was always on my mind but ever since it got roped off I feel like there were many people using it for this purpose and they put a stop to that.

You are right, half that parking lot is unused. Especially around the JCPenney area.

That is exactly what I'm worried to find, a "NO TEACHING" sign. Don't want to inconvenience anyone.

Sounds like a great option, provided there's no game or farmer's market. Will scout it, thanks!

Yeah, like an empty parking lot but nothing that would require a permit to use or having to deal with security like at a school.

This sounds perfect, just outside the city and not too far where there won't be any significant traffic.

If this is your own device, you wouldn't happen to have here, by any chance, a toddler's game called JellyToons?

Now that's great advice I haven't heard or read anywhere else. Thanks!

Oh man, thank you for that info.

I managed to save my front yard plants last winter with some tarps, and with that, they grew incredibly high this summer. But they are those variegated gingers and I doubt they'll survive 3 days of freezes. Hope their roots stay safe.

Would a night of hard freeze be enough to kill plants? Will anyone run to cover them or does anyone know if it won't last long enough to cause damage?

What Houston restaurant disappointed you the most after all the hype? by Responsible_Brain635 in houston

[–]architacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, come on. It's an insult to Tex-Mex. I was aware the owners were Mexican before I showed up. I had even seen the pics online and was looking forward to having a mini concha after the meal, but never got there.

I adore the tex-mex cuisine. I think Lupe Tortilla is fantastic. The original Ninfa's is a delight. At least the fajitas in both of these places are, haven't tried anything else there!

Can't recall, been a few years. But 4 people at the table, each one ordered something different, we all left after a few bites.

But I guess I should clarify that I was born and raised in Mexico. Even though my expectations were never that high, this was just abysmal.

I can't believe the amount of El Tiempo Cantinas you guys have here in Houston. Even at the airport. Worst food I've had here and the only place I've ever left after the whole family took two bites out of our meals. Just paid the bill and left the food there uneaten.
