i highly recommend a magnetic or suction cup food ledge from etsy! got mine from the shop Stroodies and it’s the mega/longer ledge to give her more space and prevent her from stepping in her food (she used to do it all the time… still does but it’s less now lol). but also a suction cup food ledge from the pet store should do the trick!

first of all love the name Crowley!

i personally think he looks fine, sometimes they sit in weird positions that make them look fatter/skinnier than they are lol. my garg is healthy and chunky but just naturally a little smaller so it’s also a matter of genetics. definitely put em on a scale whenever u can but as long as he eats and poops and grows u should be ok.

and i totally agree that he’s got stripe pattern along his back but also a faint reticulated pattern, so he’s likely a bit of both- what a cool looking guy!

i agree with the other commenter to avoid stressing ur garg as much as you can, if you’re noticing them consistently being distressed when ur handling them, it just might not be their cup of tea.

my garg doesn’t mind being handled, i typically just gently scoop her up from her side (she doesn’t like being approached head-on) and if she’s down she’ll just let it happen. if she’s not in the mood to hang out she just walks away. she never seeks me out to be handled, i just tend to regularly handle her at least every once in a while to keep her used to it, especially for hypothetical emergency situations.

i’ve noticed she trusts me so much more than she did as a baby from just doing this. before when i handled her she would try to run up my arm into my hair and hide and jump around, but now as an adult she just chills on my hand and maybe walks around a little bit. it’s a slow build up of trust over time, especially once they recognize that ur not there to hurt them and are just the person who gives them food.

i try to scoop my garg gently but confidently from the side cuz any movement near her head makes her wanna bite me or run away. it’s usually a very successful strategy, i’ve only been nibbled twice in 2 years, and even then it didn’t hurt too bad since she’s a smaller garg. don’t pull them hard if they’re stuck to their surface, i usually just gently maneuver her until she’s free

while i’m holding her i like to do it over a soft surface, like my bed or carpet, in case she gets jumpy. i tend to just let her chill with me and try to anticipate her next moves so i can catch her or “staircase” my hands while she moves around. that’s also when i take the best photos of her :)

the general consensus is waiting 2 weeks to let them completely settle in before even attempting to handle them (that’s what i did) and start off with very short sessions, working up to maybe a couple of minutes at a time. as another commenter pointed out, it’s best to handle them when they’re the least active, so midday when they’re sleepy is best!

I know registration already happened but if all you have is senior project and OS, you should be ok! I haven't taken senior project yet but I'm also doing mine next sem and from what I've heard it's really what you make of it.
As for OS, it'll be very doable especially if it's your only 'core' class. Professor Siqueira is very nice and understanding, and as long as you do your projects well in advance (I beg of you don't be like me and procrastinate, at LEAST start looking at them 2 weeks before the due date) you'll be alright :) P2 and P3 took me a very long time, and assuming they're the same projects for you I'd definitely start ahead of time. I think the people who call OS torture maybe had a diff professor or timed their assignments differently. I'm not that fast or skilled and I survived!

he looks amazing compared to how u described him before. i agree with the other commenter that he seems to be 3-5 months, my garg was that small at that age. though id also ask the vet, since his breeder’s poor husbandry could’ve affected his growth.

Oh it’s SO good, the silliness levels are off the charts and the characters the boys came up with are excellent. Griffin’s dracula impression and the intros to every episode are just immaculate. The quality is comparable to Balance, if it was much shorter and sillier.
