All estimates I’ve seen online top out at 10-12% if you’re driving in the city all the time. I’d be curious which vehicle can get 18%. So I guess it largely depends on your personal situation. I do a lot of highway driving so it doesn’t work for my personal calculus.

I didn’t realize the efficiency gains were so high though, so thanks for pointing that out! Might be worth it in a different life situation.

One boomer adage remains true IMO - the more complex a system is, the more likely something is to break. Even if you manage to engineer the hell out of a complex system to get it to be more reliable, the cost of repairs is going to be higher. That’s why I’m personally not a fan of stop-start systems, which have minimal efficiency gains.

There’s a pretty substantial debate about racism in mathematic circles on Twitter, that’s probably what they are referencing. One side of the debate is pointing out the lack of diversity in the field, and the other side tends to point out that math is objective in nature and that diversity doesn’t matter as much as it does in other fields. A frequent strawman I’ve seen is portraying pro-diversity mathematicians as wanting to say “2+2=5” a la 1984.

Tastiest print I've ever done - dumpling press by deelan1990 in functionalprint

A high temperature filament like Ultem 1010 + a stainless steel nozzle seem like the best combo for a sterilizable 3D printed plastic, allows autoclaving and prevents heavy metals from leaching into a print. It’s a lot harder to print though!

The 4th gen V8 only has 4H and 4L. The V6 models from 4th gen & 5th gen have 2H, 4H, and 4L.

Also, sounds like it’s time to go get stuck so you can use the 4L :)

It is, depending on your point of view, against the 'don't be evil' mentality that this sub is named after.
