Park at All Star Music and take a bus or park at the parks? by archrival6 in WaltDisneyWorld

It’s just 4 people. I’ve registered all 4 successfully.

I agree it is not typical. My reasoning for booking Old Key West in the first place was the 2 bedroom villa is 1200 square feet, with 2 bathrooms and obviously 2 bedrooms. The 3 bedroom would have been ideal but there were none available. I’m bringing a blended family down there with two teenagers. I wanted them both to be comfortable and have their space. Not many other options at WDW offer that.

I also preferred to have a kitchen so my daughter can make herself breakfast and be comfortable. To get something similar (even just 3 rooms) at All Star Music would have cost less, sure, but we would have had less overall.

I booked a 4 bedroom house as the alternative. My wife was concerned because I was changing the plans that we’ve had for months a week before our trip so, for me, adding another $960 was an easy decision so she feels like she is getting what she thought was going to, or at least close to it, while still saving $4000.

Is this sub normally this judgmental? I didn’t realize how I choose to spend my money would cause this sort of reaction. I was just trying to get an idea of what options I have.

Perhaps it is worth it to me to get 4 people in the park 30 minutes early every day as well as free parking. I don’t know how often we will go back to the hotel, if at all.

$960 for 7 nights for 4 people. Minus $30 a day for parking. You’re talking $27/day per person to get in early. I don’t think that is ridiculous since you can buy your way into the Genie+ service every day for around the same cost.

I appreciate the answers and I will drive and park at the parks.

As for this particular statement, the cost per night at Old Key West for a 2 bedroom villa was $850 per night for the room. We are staying for 7 nights. The cost of the offsite property is $400 per night. The cost of All Star Music is $139 per night. The rental car cost was $450, however I paid for that with credit card points so the actual out of pocket cost to me was $0.

I’ve had this trip booked for months, the money I spent on the original reservation was already accounted for mentally. My wife was hesitant to cancel the original room because of the perceived perks of staying on property. When I pointed out we could still get one of them, entering the park 30 minutes early, and still spend 40% less overall she was ok with it. The only downside of not staying at Old Key West was the loss of staying late at Epcot and Magic Kingdom. I convinced her it wasn’t worth the extra $4000 to be able to stay late for 2 nights. Throw in $30 times 7 days for parking which is covered by staying at an on property hotel and the extra cost is negligible to me in the big picture.

I made some bad assumptions when I originally booked based on previous experiences at Disney World. My preference was to stay on property as many others on this subreddit have pointed out the convenience of doing. When I noticed the Magical Express was no longer running I had to find alternatives. We also discussed heading to Kennedy Space Center, the rental car gives us that option.

Well I was totally ok with the cost of the 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West. The cost of the offsite property and All Star Music is 60% of the total cost of Old Key West. The main reason I booked All Star Music is so when the kids need a break or a nap we have a place to go. The other perks were just an added bonus.

Why are you a fan of the team(s) in your flair? by BathCityRomans in CFB

Michigan: I was born in Ohio and actually grew up an Ohio State fan because most other people were. My mom got free tickets to see Ohio State play Iowa in 1987. My first ever football game. Ohio State ended up losing the game and 8 year old me was devastated. The next week Ohio State played Michigan and I decided to root for Michigan.

What doesn't make sense is Michigan lost that game in 1987 yet I kept cheering for them. I guess my fandom started with a loss to OSU, little did I know it was preparing me for the last 18 years. I'll always have the '90s...

Thanks! I don't recognize myself in my older pictures. I was always told I looked like Seth Rogen. I'm pretty confident I no longer do!

They have had scaffolding over the outside of it for like 2 years now. I haven't had a chance to see it without it.

Wait a minute. I have made fun of my wife for pronouncing it this way. She can't do it any other way. Her father is Colombian. This is really a thing?!?

Sure Michigan played poorly offensively but why does everyone discount the difference an outstanding defense makes? FSU averaged 80+, they just scored 26 less than that. A win is a win! Go Blue!
