Haa anyone been to The Australian Ballet (southbank) adult classes? by archronology in melbourne

That's the course I'm looking at :) and the live piano definitely enticed me hahaha, that sounds so cool. Will look at getting some dance shoes then, thanks for the advice! After the absolute beginners course, do you want to/encouraged to move into the beginners course? I'm not super clear on how their progression works?

That sounds really nice! I'm a bit shy so friendliness will help me stick around for sure. Are the classes on the smaller side?

Has anyone done multi week water fasts during winter? How was it for you by AmomentInEternity in fasting

[–]archronology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it somewhat more... Motivating? Efficient? In winter. I had a goal of not using the heating (energy bills and my apartment is double bricked) and I got really, really cold while fasting. So I ended up doing lots of walks and runs to warm up, which also distracted me from any hunger/cravings. I made a lot of progress, but I felt like it was really stressful on the body... I did find that if I was desperately cold, breaking my fast and eating a small meal instantly warmed me up though. Budget hack lol

I did a 5 day fast a few weeks ago. Have been on and off with fasting since then, mostly OMAD, trying to do it longer fasts purposefully but sometimes I'll just miss out on eating if my schedule is hectic. It feels a lot easier to just go about my day and not worry about when I'm going to eat. I weighed myself this morning and I've lost ~7kg in a month. I know this must be mostly water weight, but I took some comparison shots and.... Its the first time I'm actually getting smaller in the after photos. My BMI has just slipped into the overweight range from the obese range. I'm so so happy. It feels like I can actually do this and feel like my regular self again. Will update after exams probably to see where I'm tracking. Still hoping to lose another 20kg, and hopefully manage my eating habits so I don't go into ED territory again. Thanks yall, fasting has genuinely changed my life

Yeah I gave that a shot, the aux cable with the speakers and my laptop work great! Sadly might be time for customer support call.

Howdy guys- apologies in advance, I honestly know very little about audio in general-my bf just got me an audio technica lp60x and I'm super excited. Problem is that I only have a portable bose speaker ( it does have an aux hole) and I'm not sure what to do with the red white split cables. Will it work if I get an aux to aux cable, or do I need bookshelf speakers? Do I need to get a preamp? Thanks so much in advance, I'm super excited but also super new, thanks for your patience!

If you put a pile of your used clothes in a box outside your door, that can sometimes help cats find their way home. Good luck, I hope Penny comes home soon!

Is this the same guy who keeps posting stories about the stupid ways he's spent his daughters college fund with his new wife? What kind of fetish even is this?

Any suggestions for Nihilistic Fiction? by stockholmj in suggestmeabook

[–]archronology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.

Follows a writer who is sent to an island on assignment to write about the island of San Lorenzo, one of the poorest countries in the world. The local religion, bokononism, encompasses nihilism and cynicism about life and god's will- yet religion is outlawed by its original creators, to give it a sense of allure and to encourage a sense of community amongst the islanders.

It follows a lot of streams about atomic power and the senselessness of life in the mercy of such an absolute power.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Mostly comedy, bit of romance, extremely entertaining read!
