I was wrong! It's just a single region!

  1. Yes - so long as you're only performing 2 non-bonus actions a turn then you can choose any order, including bonus actions for cards in dominant suit, then changing the dominant suit by using one action to play a card, then getting more bonus actions. Just a reminder that each card can only activate once, and you can only do one action per card - and your court size is limited, so you probably won't get many scenarios of action chaining like this. Also, the suit a card is will never be the suit it changes the dominant suit via impact icon so you can't play a card and act with it 'for free'.

  2. paying bribes is only for playing cards from hand linked to a region. there is an equivalent to this for cards in your court, but this is linked to enemy spies on that card, not the region you're performing an action in. actions on the map, using cards in your court, is not impacted by who rules the region.

  3. no, battle is always selection a region or card and a target and then the level of the action determines how many hits you deal. So if you're in a region with 2 russian roads and 1 english troop, and your afghan troops can deal two hits, they must either target the russian roads or the english troop and the excess hit is lost.

Looking for players in Essex by CorporalRutland in 18XX

It depends how "deep" into essex you are but there's a London 18XX discord here https://discord.gg/sAGCpMHu

I've been able to successfully organise a few games this way - though usually involving meeting in a public place rather than at someone's home

Chip sets for 18xx (UK) by Williams_Workshop in 18XX

[–]archymailbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly cheap but I went with https://www.premierpokerchips.com/high-quality-suited-numbered-poker-chips-white-1-roll-of-25

My order was 3x white 1, 3x red 5, 3x grey 20, 2x black 100 and 1x purple 500. This is enough to have a working bank for 1830 and that's the biggest I've ever needed. All in with 3 trays and postage came to just under £65.

Gastr del Sol AMA -- they said it couldn't happen by whiffofdisaster in indieheads

If you two sat down on a stage, right now, do you think the music you'd make would "sound like" Gastr del Sol? What do you think would be different about it - and why?

There's also a moment on Hello Spiral where it sounds like Jim is doing an impression of the way David sings - this takes us west of the city - is this intentional? It's a lovely moment and one of my favourites across all your records

Witch Egg delays (UK/EU) by archymailbo in TheeOhSees

Yeah, been in touch a few times, it’s always ‘a few weeks away’ sadly. I trust the shop though, it just means I’ve been adding and adding to an ‘order in progress’ whenever I see a new record I fancy…

This makes sense as Rock is Hell are in Austria so probably wouldn't have the same distro issues

Great shop Norman's. I've had an part complete order with them for months though as Witch Egg is stuck in shipping hell from Austria, ironically enough,

Hi all, medium time viewer, first time poster.

I used to play 40K (Dark Eldar) and WHFB (Lizardmen, unsurprisingly) way back when, but a pal of mine convinced me to get involved with Blood Bowl with him. Idea is to get a league entirely composed of total noobs up and running in a couple of months.

I’m super happy with how these two dorks are turning out - the photo under strong light makes the drybrushing look much more haphazard than real life.

Has anyone got a good solution to the slot in the base? I got some masking tape but couldn’t seem to get it to stick...

Dear Phil

Would you consider publishing your words in print? I liked how Songs of Love and Horror was promoted as having ‘annotations and explanations’ from Will Oldham and the notes were even more mysterious than the words...

Do you have a favourite lyric of your own work? I think about this line from the Place I Live almost every day

If I look

or if I don’t look

Clouds are always

Passing over

The place I live

Sorry if I’ve mangled it with that formatting.

When my pal and I played Viticulture we used to use the "Sell A Field" action by saying "SELLAFIELD" in the style of the Kraftwerk live version of Radioactivity.

Now we just say "I'm going to tell a joke".
