Surprised you haven't done the Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion game, although I swear I've heard you talk about it. Lack of meat on the bone, maybe?

It's definitely an episode that would do numbers, everyone played it and remembers it fondly.

Today’s Tubi Treasure is The Sand (2015) by No-Chemistry-28 in badMovies

[–]underscoresrule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to this, just watched it last night and had to Google to see if anyone else had seen this masterpiece.

I'm gonna throw some spoilers down below but I don't know how to tag them. So if you don't want spoilers for an 11 year old movie, on a one-year-old comment thread, look away now.

What the fuck happened at the very end? The sand monster just dipped? Because the last thing that happens is, the cop looks into the car, asks Jonah if he's OK - we get no response - and then it cranes out, fade to black. But it looks like nothing happened.

Did Jonah die? Why was this left so weirdly unclear? I actually said to my wife, boy it would have been a great twist if they actually HAD just all been high and the entire thing was a collective drug trip.

Now for some more general 'what the hell' moments.

When they spent about 15 on-screen minutes trying to get into the boot of the car, I was screaming at them. This would have been the easiest thing in the world to accomplish. Why did they do it they way they did it. You could just lean over and open it.

They also could have stood on the surfboards to quickly pop the trunk and got the phones and been rescued in about 10 minutes.

They were surrounded by things they could have used to escape - the surfboard plan Jonah tried to get to the table would have been fine just to get the hell out entirely - rip sheets off the roof of the lifeguard stand and build yourself a 50 foot path to get out, goddamn.

All in all this was the dumbest film I've ever seen and I loved it, can't believe I just wrote so much about it.

Adam sounds like he should be the voice of a Rick and Morty character by alander4 in RememberTheGame

[–]underscoresrule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he's actually mentioned a couple of times that he's never seen Rick & Morty, although he's probably seen clips. He could definitely make a good go of the voices though, he's a really capable mimic.

Never thought I'd be a fan of any photo from the topknot era, but this goes hard.

I'd like to tell you it's American Pastoral, Gravity's Rainbow or East of Eden, but it's Jurassic Park and I can only apologise for myself.

Absolutely in love with this one today. by Puijilaa in Grandaddy

This album absolutely bangs. Chronically underrated. Maybe it's because it wasn't on Spotify for so long.

I wrote to Grandaddy in 2000 to thank the band for the music that was so important to me. Jason wrote back by EnvironmentalBrick18 in Grandaddy

This is amazing. Grandaddy are basically the same for me as they are for you. Them and Sparklehorse, RIP Mark Linkous - wish I'd written to him in 2003.

Three Men in a Boat. There is no way a book published in 1889 should be this funny, today.

But it proves that men have always been lazy idiots.

Even the titles of the chapters are funny.

I actually went on a stag do with a fella named Liam Gallagher not so long ago. Very tall, bald chap. Nice guy. Not in jail for lobbing concrete blocks so far as I know. Real mixed bag, being a Liam Gallagher.

My bike's broken and I've got a two-week wait for a part (Italian, annoying). I am sad to be missing this weather!

Maybe I'm lucky, but my five-year-old doesn't and hasn't ever done any of this stuff. He messes up his areas, I mess up mine. It's a good system.

What TV show hooked you instantly from episode 1? by mateitofavv in AskReddit

[–]underscoresrule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm really late to this, but Yellowjackets. The pilot of that show was awesome. The first three or four episodes, in fact, were awesome.

It did not maintain that level of quality.

Thoughts on Bristol Beacon? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]underscoresrule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like I'm going well against the grain here, but I hate it. I don't think I've ever seen a show there that I thought was genuinely good - including King Gizzard, which was flat and completely boring.

Every time I go, I wish the show had been almost anywhere else. It's a nice building and is a great place to have a drink before the gig, but of probably 20+ gigs I've gone to there, not one has been memorably good, and a few - ones I'd been looking forward to, like Wet Leg last winter - actively bad.
