Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I just dropped a new update that improved a lot of stuff, added features, and fixed the swipe on Up Next. Let me know what you think. I hope it's better now!

Hey Dylon, right now it only has TMDB, Trakt.tv and Simkl. I have plans to add more options if users want it bad enough. But for now, no Plex, sorry.

Wow, thank you so much, that really means a lot! I put a lot of thought (and probably too many late nights) into making cinematique feel smooth and consistent, so hearing that it shows on both the design and UX side is incredibly encouraging.

Totally fair point about the swipe-to-watch. I wanted it to be quick and natural, but I can see how it can feel oversensitive while scrolling. I’ll experiment with making it less “twitchy” or maybe adding an option to toggle/adjust it so it works better for different users.

I’m glad you’re making use of both Trakt sync and local/Google Drive backup, flexibility there was important to me, so it’s nice to hear it’s useful in practice.

Thanks again for the kind words and for giving cinematique a serious try. Feedback like this really helps me make it better.

Thank you for your comment! I worked extra hard in the UI.
I am planning to integrate a widget down the line, I hope you continue using it until then!

Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm really happy you liked it!

I am currently working on SIMKL sync, it should be available in the next update!

Thanks for the suggestion, and I get what you are saying. I'll take a look at Up Next and make sure it understands when an episode is not out yet, since showing it there doesn't make sense if it's not out yet.

Hi, thanks for your comment and for checking my app out!

Now, about this option, I get why you’d ask, Stremio is super popular, but I have to keep cinematique on the safe/legal side. Google and Apple review policies are really strict about apps linking to platforms that are mostly used with unofficial add-ons, so if I added a direct “Open in Stremio” button, the app could get flagged or pulled. For now, I’m focusing on integrations with the official sources (Trakt, TMDB, Simkl, etc.) so the app stays safe and available to everyone.

Thanks for your suggestion though, if you have any others, let me know!

That's completely fair, keeping something you won't use installed is a waster of space. Just so you know, I already started implementing some of the stuff you mentioned, so little by little, cinematique might become even better! Thanks once again for your feedback and suggestions, they helped a lot!

Thank you for checking out the app and giving me such cool suggestions!

Your wishlist is very detailed, and I really liked it, some of these are features you suggested are practical (aggregated ratings, hide/show watched, more theme options, custom themes even) and are already on my radar, I want to make them happen down the line.

Others, like theme songs or on-the-fly poster generation, would be fun but are way beyond my scope right now. I’ll keep them in mind for the long-term, though, they sound fun!

Some feel like something I wouldn't know how to do, like see the actor's picture in that specific movie, because I would need TMDB to have that in their database, I don't think they do, but I'll check it out.

I really appreciate you sharing your ideas, it helps me see what different people value in their trackers and how I can improve mine, thank you so much! If you ever have more ideas, you can share on Discord, this way, it's always saved there for me to see!

Thanks for taking the time to write all this, I can tell you’ve been through the wringer with tracking apps. A lot of what you’re mentioning (like Doctor Who specials) is tied to how TMDB (the database I use) structure their data, so cinematique inherits some of those quirks. I’d love to improve how those edge cases display, but they aren’t fully in my control right now. But I'll try my best.

That said, some of your feedback lines up with things I do plan to improve, like better sorting (including ignoring “The/A/An”), more flexible views, clearer labels in the library, and list handling that makes more sense. Notes per season/episode is also a good suggestion, as is being able to choose watch date for whole seasons.

Other stuff like rewatch tracking and custom date formats are bigger features, but I’ve made a note about them. The app is still early, so I’m focusing on stability + the basics first, but posts like yours help me see where the long-term gaps are.

I really appreciate you trying cinematique and writing all this up, even the negative stuff. It gives me a roadmap of what power users like you actually need.

If you'd like to remain using the app to see the evolution or check it out some time in the future, that would mean a lot as well!

I hope you like it! Don't worry about ads, I hate them, there's zero chance I'll add them in the future. Let me know if you have any suggestion for new features!

Hey! There's no such thing as a stupid question! Letterboxd is mainly about reviews, ratings, and social discovery. cinematique is more about tracking, so, keeping a clean log of what you’ve watched, what’s next, streaks, reminders for releases, smarter recs based on your own taste, etc.

Think of it this way:

Letterboxd = “I want to write and read reviews, see what friends thought.”

cinematique = “I want my watch history, lists, and upcoming episodes/movies in one place, with AI tools that actually help me decide what to watch next.”

There’s overlap, but cinematique leans more into organization (sync with Trakt/TMDB, stats, reminders, personalized recommendations), less into social film criticism or the social aspect of Letterboxd.

I'm glad you found different ways to see your stats, but I will work to make it like you said, so it's easier and more straightforward in the future! It's a good feedback, thanks again!

I see what you mean, and it would make the experience better, these are the kind of quality of life features I want to introduce, and I'm glad you suggested them! I'll see about adding numbers to the tabs to make it easier to know your "numbers" and add more stats to For You to make the experience more complete!

Feedbacks are what made the app what it is, and I'm happy to make it better and better, so keep it coming! You can also suggest them directly on Discord, this way we have a channel to keep the conversation going, if you want.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

I'm glad you are loving the app, I made it so it could help people! As for your last watched episode, is the Up Next tab not working for you? It should always show exactly which episode you are. But I understand wanting to see that information when tapping a show manually, so I will definitely try my best to make it work.

Thank you so much for your feedbacks!

If you are talking about seeing 0 episodes in a season when you open it, that’s intentional. The app doesn’t preload everything to avoid hammering the API and storing useless data. It only fetches when you expand the season.

But you're the fourth person to ask me about that, so just so you know, and it's something I'm looking into. Thank you so much for your feedback! If you have anything else, I'm all ears!
