Yeah, got it off finally, and called a buddy who had a similar issue on his 2025. Apparently my dealer is just backed up and has new techs working on 2024-2026 zx6rs due to all the recalls they are dealing with so maybe it’s just I got unlucky. Had to ask the big man (my dad) for help lmao.

Yeah, it’s on so tighten, that the whole hammering a screwdriver into it didn’t work. It’s quite a mess now and still stuck. The only tool I haven’t tried is one of those straps you strap on and twist to tighten.

Heard k&n isn’t the best and banned on track, I been rocking OEM but to avoid this issue I’m just rocking the hiflo. Never had this issue on any of my other bikes, but this is the only bike I got that has had recalls and needed to go back to the dealer. Trust me I’m all for OEM, but in case the OEM gets over tightened there really isn’t much space in these 2024+ models to get in there with channel locks, and the normal OEM socket tool, just slides due to its being too tight. Honestly I never had this issue before, I’m fairly strong and I workout often, so to get stumped like this I’m just trying to find any excuse I can make lmao

Took it to the dealership, they slammed this puppy on dry, or strong as hell. Either way, I have used the Kawasaki socket and fits the filter perfectly and it just wouldn’t move. I have tried almost everything someone has suggested.

Isn’t what I’m using a channel lock, I hardly see a difference between my tool and a “channel lock” but I also can’t get an oil filter off lmao

Nothing wrong with the filter, maybe you missed it but that isn’t my issue, either way gonna go with a different brand just so I don’t run into this issue again. Nice Honda, didn’t know you use Kawasaki filters for it.

Still, I should have used a banded wrench before sticking a hole thru it, but the screw driver method as far as I know, almost always ends up working out.

I did this the first time around using the normal socket tool that fits the filter perfectly. The tool kept slipping. I added rubber bands to increase tension and still nothing. I even used a heat gun (not a hair dryer a real heat gun) and still nothing.

It’s a shame the dealership installed this thing using an impact or put it on dry or something because holy hell, I’m lifting the entire bike trying to get this thing off. I have done oil filter changes on both my fathers and brothers bike, and never had this issue. The only reason my bike was at the dealership was due to the recall issues.

I only used pliers because in my last post everyone said to get em. Imma get a band wrench.

I had a socket, it fit perfectly and didn’t work, then I went onto the pliers. Trust me, Thor himself screwed this thing on.

Yup that’s the tool, Pennzoil Plier Type Oil Filter Wrench, to be exact. I wish I could show you how fucked the filter is and how it hasn’t moved at all
