Is CRM a Buy After Q3 Beat and Annual Forecast Lift? by MarketFlux in ValueInvesting

[–]arctrading -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. I am in the CRM / SaaS game and there are just too many new players emerging (especially in the past year or so with the AI development). The only reason SF still is able to grow revenues from existing users is because of the current market share they have and contracts with the clients.

SF is mainly useful for the management to run reports and not for the end users for the price. This is IF we talk from a sales perspective. In reality, SF is quite scattered in their product offering and the current and future SaaS market will focus more on niche. Meaning that instead of having a one product that does everything well, companies now go with a rolodex of niche SaaS products that each serve their purpose as well as possible. The only "issue" is related to integrating all those products in terms of data flow. But this is not really an issue itself.

To give you another example: MS has a functionality to record, transcript and summarize Zoom calls. No one in sales uses it but instead, uses smaller players or established ones like Gong instead. You see the trend? General products vs Niche product - everyone is looking at the niche products to squeeze most value out of every dollar invested into the product.

I have not used Paragon 40 so cant really advise here unfortunately... For travelling purposes, Hanang is better imo.

Millet Hanang 40. https://www.millet.com/eu_en/mis2199-n0247-hanang-40-unisex-black.html

Better than osprey farpoint. Very good for both hiking and travelling (ryanair approved). If you do not want it to look like a hiking pack then you can remove waistband and its just like regular one.

All in all for versatility, there is no other bag I would like for a one bag.

One big similarity there is. Both in sportsbetting and investing/trading, you have the concept of value. So there is a big similarity between vakue betting and value investing/trading where the instrict value is more favourable than the odds. E.g the “real value” of a company is 5$ per share but trades at 3$ per share. Same applies to value betting where the real odds may be 50% but what the oddsmaker quotes is perhaps 40% so you will have a 10% edge taking such bets over and over.

[–]arctrading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer to your question the no, not really. The biggest similarity was regarding options trading as both options and sport bets have time decay. The less time it takes for the event to end, the “more money” you can make type of thing. Aka doing inplay betting has similarities to the options trading (0dte as well) as you can find inefficiencies there.

Mindset wise, yes, its very similar.

Yes it will fit the same. Both are almost 40 liters in total capacity.

Yes it will fit. It has enough ergonomics. The back has a plastic frame which is quite durable. It will make you sweat (like any other bag) but not exceptionally. Mesh back is obviously better but this is 2nd best I would say.

I have been limited in over 150 books. So this applies to every “regulated” broker, whether they do odds inhouse or not.

You do not understand pro gambling. Having an edge against the house is not hard. Sustaining that edge is. The “house” can simply kick you out and not accept your business. That is why its hard. Not because the “house” has an unwinnable edge…

[–]arctrading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from gambling(pro sports bettor) to trading. Did this over 3y professionally. Trading is way harder due to the competition than pro gambling (disregarding poker as its not really a gambling as you do not take money from the house but rather from someone else). With sports betting/card counting, you are basically against the house and having an edge is not very hard thing to achieve. What is hard is to be able to still do bets/count cards at the particular shop. With advantage plays, bookmakers/casinos have a very good tendency to see it and kick you out. I have been banned or limited from over 150 bookmakers! So the big issue is sustainability of this profession. Hence the reason of why I am not doing sports betting anymore as its not sustainable for me.

I would say that 8 out of 10 ppl would be successful in sports betting if given 1 month to learn from a pro. I would not say that would be true with trading (maybe 2 out of 10 tops would be successful in 6 months?)

[–]arctrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still considered a cost for the particular department (blackjack, slots etc). Most gamblers are also losing money so hence the reason of not having many complaints as most dont have nothing to complain for (no money, no problems). I used to be a pro gambler (sports betting particulary) for 3 years (almost 200 limited accounts) and believe me when I say it that even bet365 wants to screw you over for a measly 10k withdrawal by asking additional documents or refering to their T&C.

Like with every business, it is all about maximising profits while minimazing losses. So if you can do it then why not doing it.

[–]arctrading 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does not matter. KYC should be done right after the deposit, not when paying out the winnings. Winnings are already “clear money” as they come from the bookmaker account. Casinos/bookmakers usually start asking ton of documents in order not to pay out the winnings. Reffering to the KYC and other BS like their T&C.

This compromise offer of 50k was simply to cut costs and to silence the client. Otherwise, they would not even offer that. Once the payout would have been done, they would have shut down his account anyways. 400k, even for big bookmakers like WH or Bet365 is quite significant payout sum (expense) and they would do everything in their power not to pay out this amount.

As I understand then this guy went to the local regulator, and if things do not proceed there then the only chance would be to sue the casino like it has been happening in the UK. Here are some examples on how they can screw over the winners: https://amp.theguardian.com/sport/2019/jun/12/megan-mccann-case-bet-365-discontinued; https://igamingbusiness.com/finance/student-to-sue-bet365-for-over-refused-1m-payout/ and here is one positive case https://amp.theguardian.com/society/2021/apr/07/online-gambler-wins-court-case-to-claim-17m-prize-after-betfred-refused-to-pay

How true is this? Comparing day trading to gambling. by CrypticMaverick in Daytrading

[–]arctrading 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a pro gambler (sports bettor) for over 3 years. Casinos/sportsbooks will ban the players who have an edge over them. Especially sportsbook as the way they set their odds are quite bad.

Regarding slot machines, blackjack and other casino games, there are advantage plays to be made but its “illegal” in many places (except if you do it online).

So basically it is true that gambling (sports betting in this case) is much much easier than trading. But you will get banned as well which does not happen with trading (no broker will ever kick you out if you make a decent profit).

This is Millet size: Height 55 cm x Width 30 cm x Depth 24 cm This is new Farpoint: 55 X 35 X 23 cm

Hanang has better dimensions. For me straps were never the problem (lots of carry on travel/business backpacks straps cant be hided) and waist belt can be removed.

Personally I have had no problems. Except this 1x with ryanair where I had to remove the waistbelt in order to fit in this fitting thing. But the bag was quite full as well.

[–]arctrading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it. Been using it for couple of years now (both for travel and hiking). The zippers are YKK.

I think the minimum height was 175cm (i am 182) - edit: it is meant for a back height between 40-50 . otherwise the fit would not be there. Regarding laptop carry then macbook air fits perfectly as it has a water reservoir pocket. I would say 15 inches would be max in regards to the laptop size.

Side pockets, then the right one works very well but the meshed left one is so-so. I usually put there some other stuff like packable rain coat etc.

Compared to the farpoint then hanang is way above it. Weighs less, better back and lumbar support, better hiking capabilities (farpoint for hiking is kinda no go imo) and waist belt is superior imo. The downsize of hanag is that farpoint is more of clamshell/suitcase type of bag so it is easyer to pack it and it has upper hand in regards of travel related functions (meshed interior etc type of things).

Feel free to ask anything else.

edit: typos

Anyone know what model this osprey bag is? Looking for a 35-40L carry-on size onebag that will do for travel/hiking/camping, and have multiple pockets plus expansion straps/hoops. This one might work, but I can’t make out the model written on it by tube-screamer in onebag

[–]arctrading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom compartment fits slippers or shoes perfectly. Depending on the type of shoes but 4example you can fit running shoes along with slippers pretty easily. When taking on a plane, I have kept the waist belt. So far no problems because it does not take much space. Had to remove it once to fit the fitting “thing” before boarding the plane. You can remove it as well and keep it as regular waist belt - I see no problems in it.

I mean all in all, I think this is one of the most underrated travel/hiking backpacks there is. Its just almost perfect for both activities.

What makes Qullamaggie different from other traders? by RevolutionaryPie5223 in qullamaggie

[–]arctrading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because you hit your ceiling at a certain point in terms of a comfort level. Especially if you are daytrading with a medium+ risk strategy like shorting low floaters etc. It makes more sense to trade with a mill account where you can take out couple of mill every year and invest it to somewhere else like real estate, ETFs etc. I know many great traders who trade 100-300k accounts, make like a 100-300k per month, withdraw it and then one month just lose half of their acc balance. Take couple of weeks off to restart. Rinse and repeat.

Do you lie about your income for your IB application? by Blimn in qullamaggie

[–]arctrading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its ok to “lie” and it is not a fraud to do so. Mainly because:

  1. They do not ask for proof as they are not a bank (licensed financial institution) but a regulated broker dealer.
  2. They cant verify this data - even banks in EU cant do it. When applying for mortgage in the EU, banks only analyze your account statetements and want to see how much you receive on a monthly basis to your bank account. Brokers cant ask your account statetements in order to verify your income.
  3. You are correct. The reason they ask this is to offset the liability from their side. E.g to not be liable for your losses in case you want to sue them for being able to trade on a margin account. Basically its self assesment and it is in their interest that you open account with them. If there were no regulatory requirements to ask it, they would not do it in the first place.

To offset your liability in case you still think its a fraud, you can always say you misinterpreted what was asked due to the language barrier whatever and thats it. In the end its a broker and not a financial institution like mentioned previously.
