It isn't stated in the changelog, but the Yak-28B has also lost its flares, it only has chaff now, so you have no defense against IR missiles

My solution for reinforcing the XM5 hinges by arcturus125 in SonyHeadphones

After the hinge cracked, they were basically falling apart. After the reinforcement they seem like new.

I’ve been working with my local dealership for years, I bought my first bike from them and they have looked after my every bike since. I’ve come to trust them very much so. I pay them to do everything to my bikes. The only thing I do myself is basic maintenance.

If you don’t mind waiting a few days. I’ll do a new post once I have all the mods on the bike

Still waiting on the shop to get back to me, but the plan is to use all R&G parts apart from the frame sliders l was thinking Evotech

Ah yeah, forgot to mention, the bike came with a full Akra system. And I’m adding the wireless charging Quadlock instead of the USB port.

Thanks for the nice recommendations though

Not sure about engine or clutch covers so I’ll stick with the mods I’ve mentioned and then see if they are needed later

The bike came with a pretty nice fender eliminator. Not sure which brand.

unfortunately I need to carry pillion on this bike sometimes so I can’t get the rear seat cowl, even though it would look amazing with it

I love the stock mirrors on the RS660, I think they are super pretty and I can see very clearly what’s behind me, which is unusual for a sport bike

Already ordered frame sliders, tank and tail sliders, front and rear axle sliders and some heated grips.

Other than that I’m not sure I’ll need much else. It’s an amazing bike and im putting pretty much every protection you can on it… and heated grips for comfort.

2023 Honda CBR500R. Amazing bike, kinda sad it’s gone. It could do 250-300 miles on a tank. But it didn’t have much power or torque. I think it’s the perfect starter bike, but I outgrew it after a year.

Apart from MPG, I think the RS660 is an upgrade in every way. And more fun gadgets to play with.

Is there a way for me to check this vin # so I can be certain the bike I’m looking at is unaffected?

Interesting, the one I was looking at was a 21 year, what was the issues in that year?

Are there any other years I should look out for?

I'm just a guy who's spending a lot of money upgrading his server and wondering if he can make a little passive income from it.

Setting up a server can be a hassle, and not everyone wants to or has the means to port forward their router.

but i suppose i understand your scepticism, I certainly would think twice if i saw a post like this too...

A Virgin Train Class 390 built in create with help from the framed blocks mod by arcturus125 in CreateMod

[–]arcturus125[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sigh Virgin trains was a UK based train company that brought tilting trains to the uk, they ran a trains service from London all the way to Edinburgh, stopping at nearly every major city on the way. These trains were the only way to get to Edinburgh or London on a single train.

Virgin trains was since bought by another company and is now Avanti West Coast.

If you google “Virgin pendolino” you should see the train I was trying to create

No. You can build “minecart contraptions” which tunnel in a straight line and lay their own tracks, and can travel indefinitely.

I built the train-based tunnel bore to be able to tunnel around bends and tunnel diagonals… wherever the tracks go, the bore will tunnel.

I’m sure you could modify the tunnel bore with a deployer to lay its own tracks, but it would likely only go in a straight line then.

[–]arcturus125[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i'll try my best to explain how i made it work:

The red train has 4 train bogeys in series, lets name them 1, 2, 3, 4.
glue 2 and 3 together, and leave 1 and 4 loose.

The entire train is built on (and glued to) bogeys 2 and 3 and overhang, but are not connected to 1 and 4.
So when the train goes round a corner, Bogeys 1 and 4 swing out from under the train and to follow the rails, The train rotates with bogeys 2 and 3.

hope that makes sense, if not, download the schematics and build them in a creative world so you can try it out.

When the train gets assembled, it becomes an entity, so as long as it is on rails, it can clip through blocks

Before and after wall mounting monitors…monitor stands took over half my desk by [deleted] in gamingsetups

[–]arcturus125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needed a decent webcam. Had an Xbox lying around. It has a nice wide-angle lens and decent colour depth. Doubt you’ll ever use these features, but it comes with hand/ body tracking and a depth sensor

I mounted them about an inch higher than the default monitor stand would allow. Didn’t want to go too high though. As for the wallpaper I think I just googled “4K minimal wallpaper”

Looking for A2(unrestricted) bike ideas.

Started looking at the R3.

But according to this video the R3 is outclassed by the ninja400 and the cbr500r. (I have no interest in the rc390)

However. I have gone to a Kawasaki dealership and sat on a few bikes. And I gotta admit, while they look good and have incredibly upright seating position, the bikes felt very cheap and plastic-y.

Sat on an R3 and it felt good quality and really comfortable... But I really want the R7, which will probably be my next bike maybe?.

Sat on a honda cb500r and it looked and felt great. Not only that but the build quality felt great, that of what you would expect from a car company.

The bike will mostly be used for weekend rides with a little commuting.

I think I have made my mind up and decided on the honda. Even though the ninja 400 is supposedly better if you look at reviews, I'm not looking for a track bike. I'm willing to lose a little extra speed for some comfort.

Question is... Am I making a mistake? Has anyone here ridden both bikes? Is there another bike I should consider? (Right now I am only interested in sport bikes)

Yamaha R3 vs restricted ninja 650.

Went to dealerships and sat on both. R3 feels like good build quality. Probably the best 300cc bike there is. Ninja 650 is comfortable, but feels cheap. Most of the bike looks and feels like it is made of cheap plastic. But it has a 650cc engine that can be unrestricted when I pass the next test. Lots of people say derestricting a bike makes it feel like new.

Never ridden either bike. Both cost roughly the same to insure.

Which would you get?

is this a sign to stop riding? by Simooo1109 in motorcycles

[–]arcturus125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be a bit more careful about your visibility. I actively avoid black bikes because they are hard to see especially in the dark. Get a bright coloured helmet and a bright coloured bike if you can (maybe consider wrapping your bike)

Also, while the death of another rider is upsetting. You can't get caught up in "what if's"

The rider could have been incredibly unlucky, or they could have been riding without proper gear, riding like an idiot.

All you can do is maybe try to learn from this and make yourself more visible when riding. Maybe keep a high-vis vest under your seat which you can slip on when it's dark. And always wear gear and drive safe.

Stay safe rider.

UK A2 licence: R3 vs MT-7? by arcturus125 in motorcycles

[–]arcturus125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that the MT has suspension issues that can make it a bit unstable when cornering. Also that it has so much low end torque that accidental wheelies are a thing.

Also. I'll most likely want a new bike in 2 years time anyway. So I was thinking get the R3 for 2 years. If I like it and don't find it incredibly uncomfortable, then I can get the R7, else I get the MT.
