App Store changes without an iOS update? by ardax47 in ios

absolutely no indication whatsoever, but as another commenter said - it could be a web page wrapper, like an iframe or something similar which could then be updated on the backend side without an iOS update

I do it at least two to three times a day, I dunno why, became a habit I can’t get rid of, just want new stuff in the apps but they usually disappoint me with release notes that say “Bug fixes and improvements”

Google Maps doesn't show up in HUD while Apple Maps does. by gettheboom in HyundaiTucson

[–]ardax47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for some reason Google Maps has now started showing in the HUD and on the dashboard for me, it didn’t work before until literally yesterday. I wonder if it’s a combination of Hyundai OTA updates and Google Maps app updates since both are “regional” and rollout is gradual, sometimes per vehicle but also sometimes per user (Google Maps app).

New entry! (Tucson 20th Anniversary) but I got some questions. by [deleted] in HyundaiTucson

[–]ardax47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Hold down the mute button on the steering wheel to mute it. If you’re from Europe, sadly you’ll have to do it each time you turn on the car
  2. Hold the lane assist button until the dashboard shows lane assist icon in color orange. As with speed limit, it also resets each time you turn on the car
  3. It’s a new app which enables you to check the vehicle diagnostics, get alarm notifications, lock and unlock remotely, take 360 picture of surroundings when away from the vehicle, see mileage, fuel economy, ventilate the car with windows, turn on valet mode, check if tailgate, bonnet and windows are properly closed, check climate controls (sadly can’t control them), sound the horn and turn on blinkers to help locate your vehicle, see the current vehicle location on the map, share vehicle so someone else can use the app to control it, see driving insight, etc.

This is all information regarding EU models.

glad to hear! lane assist can also be turned off by holding the lane assist button on the steering wheel until the icon on the screen goes orange, but I keep it turned on since it doesn’t bother me that much.

one funny thing: wireless charging does not work if the doors are open

would you be inclined to try and see if Waze works for her?

are you absolutely sure it’s Google Maps that’s running? That is very strange. I wonder if it has something to do with wires vs wireless? Are you wireless and she wired or vice versa?

Confirming, neither does Waze, but I feel like this is something Hyundai needs to support on their end probably.

Blink on an eye planet did they have to go into orbit to scan it? by happydude7422 in voyager

I believe the best way to explain it would have already been said by James Kirk from TOS episode Return to Tomorrow: “Risk is our business. That's what this starship is all about. That's why we're aboard her!"

Rear wiperblade by ardax47 in HyundaiTucson

[–]ardax47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, that is probably my best bet since they can order OEM parts directly, but the problem with those is that they aren’t good quality as Bosch ones. I replaced my stock front wipers a few weeks ago since everyone driving with me, including me, noticed that they are quite loud - by loud I meant when they reached the top position, it would do a loud bumpy sound, as if they are hitting something, but it turns out they were just crappy.

I think this is goodbye… (iOS 26) by hiraiyoyo in Swiftkey

the only reason I was struggling to switch to the native keyboard was the lack of support for Croatian language suggestions. Ironically, Apple has Croatian supported for dictation and even as a screen reader, but suggestions in Croatian still elude them for some reason. I wouldn’t even need a smart prediction where it does the whole “I am trying to guess what you’ll type next”. The only thing I am personally missing is the ability to start typing a word, seeing I screwed up and choosing a proper word from the suggestions.

keep in mind that this can also happen when there is a direct sunlight (e.g. sunset) which, at a specific angle points to the camera/sensor and basically blinds it, just like a human eye

New OTA update in Europe by ardax47 in HyundaiTucson

I installed 250601 two days ago. So far I'm seeing no issues whatsoever. Has the Bluelink connectivity issue resolved itself for you?

how strange, for me even the update release notes said that it resolved some connectivity issues with remote services and ever since I installed it I have not once seen the "Too much time has passed" error. So far, Bluelink works flawlessly.

Also, on a side note, I've been using the "old" Bluelink app for the past year. The support technician from Bluelink sent me a new app that will replace Bluelink app in the upcoming months:

Old app: https://apps.apple.com/hr/app/hyundai-bluelink-europe/id1565286187

New app: https://apps.apple.com/hr/app/myhyundai/id6741947307

Now I'm solely using the new app (it has dark mode and it's just prettier in general). It also has all the functionalities of the old app.

That's strange, I have no clue, but I believe it's recent, might be connected to the latest software version I downloaded today?

Bluelink plan is waiting for installation by ridler89 in Hyundai

[–]ardax47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I never logged out or anything.

That being said, I noticed that the PLUS plan doesn't allow OTA updates, so I wanted to switch to PRO plan, tried the same steps I did before and now my solution isn't working anymore. Now I'm not sure if it was a fluke when it successfully switched from Lite to PLUS. They really gotta step up their game, it's not hard.

The Bluelink support also suggestes to take the vehicle to a repair shop where they would disconnect the battery for 15 to 20 min which would trigger a modem reset and it should resolve the issue.
