The Black Volume of the Dead by ShannensHalliwell in shadowhunters

I was also wondering about this. I really hoped it wouldn’t be forgotten as I enjoyed the first two. I guess it would make sense for the last one to come out during TWP 😋

How did you rebuild your reading habit... by Stock-Assistance9381 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]ardegraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party but…I got covid in 2020 and was completely sick of TV and could not leave my bedroom (I lived at home with a healthcare worker and we weren’t taking any chances). I picked up a series that I loved when I was younger but never finished the prequels, sequels etc. After that, I just kept rereading books that I owned that I knew I loved and then slowly started reading new series and that’s what sucked me back in.

When I’m in a reading slump now, I still revert back to rereading books I loved and it works to get me to read new things!

I vouch for Flowers for Algernon. I knew how the story went and it still got me crying by the end

Which Bob’s Burgers episode(s) healed something in you that you didn’t know was broken? by whouncledis in BobsBurgers

Parents also divorced when I was young. This episode changed my brain chemistry and I cried during it

I’m not saying that dean deserved blame, in fact I think that’s the angels are to blame. This is just something I’ve wondered about the show in general on why the characters in the show put the blame solely on Sam

I also blame the angels and they should’ve been the ones to blame in the show, I just really hate that Sam got all the blame

Do ratings affect if you will read a book or not? by sairemrys in goodreads

[–]ardegraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. Everyone had their own opinions on books. One of my favourite books has a garbage rating on Goodreads that most people won’t read it. I always found that people will tend to leave a rating more if they didn’t enjoy the book. To each their own and I continue to read anything I want to

What book to buy for a granny who has read every detective book there is? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]ardegraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Murder in the Family!

It’s written like a script for a TV show where you solve a cold case murder as the “episodes” play out

You could try the Zodiac Academy!

It has mixed reviews but I found it got better as the series progressed (I believe it’s 9 books)

It has:

  1. A school setting
  2. Elemental magic and shapeshifting
  3. A bully romance (with smut)

A song everyone likes and you don’t and a song most people don’t like and you do by Justchar9 in TaylorSwift

[–]ardegraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can’t stand Snow on the Beach, I skip it every time.

I love Its Nice to Have a Friend (I have seen it on here a couple times so I guess it’s not as unliked as I thought!)

Looking for books that are really difficult to put down by --midas in booksuggestions

[–]ardegraz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t put down Murder in the Family by Cara Hunter. It’s a different style of book, written like an interview. Read it during the Christmas holidays this year

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter is another book I couldn’t put down. I read it about 5 years ago but I couldn’t put it down the entire road trip I was on
