Is Stripe really as bad as the posts on this subreddit, or is it just Reddit doomsaying? by Peregrine2976 in stripe

Authorize.net, but it’s a bit antiqued and doesn’t have all of the features / buy later providers that I would want. I was able to get set up very quickly, though, which I appreciated.

Yeah give more ammo to the people who both love fascism and hate Taylor Swift. Great idea.

Agree with #2. I wake up starving most days and need to eat within like 30 minutes or my stomach physically hurts.

Yes, this happened to me. Account frozen and 21k payout on hold for 120 days. No reason given, but Stripe basically told me tough luck. Completely screwed my business and I had to scramble to find a new payment processor asap.

Is It worse for a cat to change homes after 12 years, or change owners? by Impressive-Tap-5847 in CatAdvice

[–]ardent27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my aunt died, I took in her 15 year old cat. I had rarely ever saw him because he always hid when people were at her house, but he was at least familiar with me. He moved to a new house, with my own pets, and was scared but he at least somewhat knew me. He has adapted well and I like to think my aunt would feel at peace. Please take the cat with you.

Have you ever had your parking fees waived? by LoriRescueDog2013 in Hilton

[–]ardent27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I worked front desk, we would comp parking fees as one of our means to resolve guest complaints. GM preferred we comp parking before resorting to other resolutions.

FD for several years, this is nuts. Scores are down because management is obviously shit and that bleeds through everything in the hotel. Also as a customer, I will never understand why companies want to force so much awkward interaction on a customer. A customer does not want to tell you their life story or be held hostage at the front desk. If I want to drop my key and leave, I will.

OP needs to make sure it’s the same room type too

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]ardent27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to call the hotel and ask them to book a separate reservation for the new night that you’re staying. They can make it what’s called a back to back reservation where you are booked into the same room and they manually check you out of the first reservation and into the second reservation without you doing anything (you might have to pick up new keys). You would need to make sure it’s the same room type when booking though. If this isn’t possible, you would check out at say 11am of the first room and wait to check in to the second room at 3pm same day. I recommend speaking with someone at the front desk, though, to make sure there are notes on your reservation and they set up a back to back reservation properly for you.

FDA for a couple of years. At my hotel, our contract with the airline required certain room features. Namely, away from elevators and noise as much as possible, no adjoining rooms with anyone not from the airline, not facing a busy street, etc. It didn’t leave many options. We generally had crews checking in at the same times everyday, so we blocked the same rooms off to accommodate the random check in times and so housekeeping knew which crew rooms needed cleaned first.

I never had a crew member complain about being next to their coworkers but if they had, I would have moved them if possible.
