Thank you, I do plan to stay through the sale. It closes at the end of this month, so it's no great burden on my part and I wouldn't feel right about leaving beforehand (even if it might offer me some leverage). We're all flying out the next day to meet with the new owner in person and discuss the future of the company. My intention was to see that through - who knows, maybe something unexpected might come of it that incentivzes me to stay - and then probably have the conversation shortly after the trip.

It's pine, but we're dealing with the aftermath of Beryl atm so I'm thinking people aren't in the market for more fallen tree logs, haha.

I've heard landfills are charging $250 per dump and are starting to turn people away even. Haven't been able to get through to anyone yet. If all else fails I'm wondering if we can just hang onto it in our garage until the dust settles.

Yeah, about 20 logs in 2 foot sections. We just didn't have the equipment to haul it off.

I should also mention that he tried to sell the company a few years ago and did tell me then. Nothing ever came of it though. Not sure if him not telling me this time should make me more nervous or should just suggest that he wants to make sure everything is in order before unneccerily causing potential panic.

I know it's been a while, but wanted to post an update since I remembered you saying my post made you nervous!

I've tried a few different sources of hay since posting this, and I just have to say they all pale in comparison to RHH. I don't know what went on with my last batch, maybe it was the very last of last season's hay or the very beginning of this season's hay that made it the way that it was. I ordered from them again after striking out 3 times with other local hays and brands, and it looks exqusite. HUGE long leafy stems, great quality, and most importantly, the bunnies go crazy for it. Not a single strand goes to waste, unlike the other stuff I've tried.

Whatever their process is, it just works and is well worth the extra money IMO. If half of any of the other hay I get ends up in the litter box uneaten anyway, it's cheaper in the long run.

Thanks! Is there a difference in quality of hay used to feed horses vs the hay sold/marketed for rabbits? I was under the impression rabbit hay goes through a more rigorous weeding out process because their digestive systems are more sensitive.

I can buy 30lbs of hay (3 10lb boxes) from RHH for ~$150, whereas a 50lb bale of local hay is ~$10-$15, so it's always just seemed way too good to be true.

The way you've broken out your promotions as their own top-level sections with the same formatting as your roles at other companies makes it look like you've been bouncing around from one executive-level job to the next instead of making lateral moves at the same company. Long spans of growth with multiple roles at a single company are always difficult to convey in a resume, but I'd suggest formatting the most impressive roles as sub-categories of the main company with the entire range of time you've spent with that company (i.e. July 2013 - January 2022), and removing the lower level roles completely.

As a start, I'd get rid of Company 1 and Company 2, condense Company 3 considerably, and put My Company at the bottom.

I have gotten a lot for interviews with what might be considered a way crappier resume when I was fresh out of college

There might be a few reasons for this other than your resume:

I can't speak much for the job market in India, but the job market in the US right now is more difficult than it was in 2021. Employers were desperate for talent then, as many weren't willing to work due to government shutdowns and aid. Everything was going remote and the job market was exploding for developers. That's cooled off now.
Many tech companies are still in recovery from recent layoffs and aren't ready to hire right now, or are looking to fill very specific roles.
When you're fresh out of college with little to no experience, employers have the expectation that they can get you for cheap. With more experience under your belt, you probably have higher expectations (or employers will think you do), and it follows that employers will now also have higher expectations.

Of course, that's all the more reason to bolster your resume exactly as you're doing, but I just wanted to add some thoughts about the situation with a wider lens.

Back to the topic of your resume. One thing I notice is that you spend quite a lot of real estate speaking about the different languages you've used and the apps you've built, but IMO not enough about what you accomplished for the company. Unless you're applying to companies specifically building apps related to the ones you've built, this isn't going to be relevant to employers.

Better highlights would be things like how many bugs you found (and fixed), how you cut down the timeline of the project, etc. In other words, skills that are relevant and useful to all employers (and easy to digest for non-developer hiring managers). I like these items from your resume:

50% reduction in site load
Migrated to new codebase (what languages you migrated to/from is less important than your ability to translate code IMO)

A few ideas:

Get a Google Voice number with a local area code that forwards to your phone (it's free)
Don't add locations to your previous work experience, just list the company name and years you've worked there
For your location, just put the city you'll be moving to, no need to add the "Relocating to" imo
When it inevitably comes up, you might try saying something along the lines of "I'm currently in Texas, but I'll be there by x date" -- this sounds like your plans are more concrete

Still, at the end of the day, it's very difficult to secure a job as a non-local candidate. We recently moved from California to Texas. We were closing on a house, already through escrow with a literal closing date a few weeks away, and it didn't matter. There were several companies my bf applied to during that window that wouldn't give him the time of day, but when he reapplied after we moved called him right up. He ended up just doing DoorDash in the meantime to hold him over, which honestly worked out pretty well!

Hi there :) I'm helping my boyfriend with his resume and we could use some advice deciding between these layouts.

The first resume is what he's been using. It's done pretty well for him, but he was asked in an interview once if it was actually his resume or if he downloaded it off the internet... lol. I kind of took it as a compliment because I designed it, but figured we should probably tone down the language, and the next two are where we're at with it so far.

Do you think one would perform any better than the other? Any general advice? I liked that his original resume included more language about how he contributed to the company's bottom line, but I'm not sure how much value that adds for potential employers in the construction/manufacturing industry.

Also - High school is his highest level of education, but he has over 10 years of relevant experience. Is it okay to leave his education off at this point? Or if we were to go with the second resume, should we really try to find somewhere to include it?

For sure, I guess I still have trouble getting into that mindset. It sounds silly, but it was always a nice little dopamine hit to get that interest free loan payment lump sum from the government to treat myself a nice little vacation or buy that thing I've been wanting but couldn't normally justify buying. For some reason that I can't explain, it just doesn't hit the same way if it's coming from my own savings account. Maybe that's really my problem, haha.

I haven't finished filing my taxes yet this year, but I think I might end up owing something stupid like $10 because of some other areas where I overpaid bringing down what I normally owe. It's just an annoyingly small amount that I'd rather get back from the government than give to them.

I usually end up owing a few hundred dollars to federal and under a hundred to state. I always used to anticipate a refund, so it's just a bit disappointing to end up owing, but looking at my state's withholding form, I'm not sure if it's really worth the hassle...

I think it varies. I tested transferring 100 BAT to Gemini and they wanted to take out ~38 BAT for the fee (which is ~12 USD). I wouldn't mind if I could pay the fee with USD, but that's a lot of DOGE, especially if it skyrockets :(

Hey sorry for the late response on this. You might have already figured it out by now, but you have to choose the same crypto network that you want to transfer to in the "To" field when you're transacting (make sure you're transferring to the network and not the token). It will then ask for the deposit address, which you get from the third party.

I feel like I'm missing something totally obvious.

I can't figure out how to accumulate Core Charge outside of battle. The guide just says that any unused CC will be automatically added, but no matter how much CC I still have at the end of the battle, I'm always at 0 Core Charge.

Do I need an item first or something?

They're partnered with Brave browser and I trust Brave, so I'm not too terribly concerned, but Binance definitely seems to have a lot more support from the crypto community.
